Due to lack of time to do astronomy I am selling my Star Adventurer bundle. Bought it Oct last year from FLO. Been out few times but it deserves someone who will be able to get most of this great little mount. It comes with original packaging and as extra I will add ball head for free. I am looking for £215 shipped or £200 collected from SE Essex area. https://goo.gl/photos/kUDeKzNKRtrsTY1GA Thanks for looking Adam

Hi Guys, I am still here and after Summer will be out more often. Promise!!! Short nights, no proper darkness means no DS or Milky Way. I have spent last evening to search for new site just a bit closer to Southend. Wallasea Island seemed to be got place, not far away from Area 51 (just across the river) however nearby jetty where Crossrail project is dumping material excavated from underground tunnels is full of bright flood lights frown. Mayby in 10 years when lights will go it will be different place: Anyway, just a postcard with Jupiter and Venus on one picture: -
I will remove Dec axis tonight from my eq1 and will try to attach ball head to it. Will see how it will go. One question - how do you pillar align your rig? I was thinking about using laser somehow but not sure where to fix it.

Still here mate, just was struggling with new baby and sleep pattern. She is now sleeping almost all night through so will be back into astronomy fairly soon -
How much and how popular was it? I guess plannents, moon and brighter DSOs were nicely vissible in those scopes. Good idea to earn a little bit from your hobby

Near Hadleigh Castle just before and after lights switch off. Quality of the gif is not great but at least you can see how much Light pollution is affecting sky in our area. http://makeagif.com/i/YOZHiA

Planetarium a Wat Tyler Country Park
bamus replied to zakkhogan's topic in Essex Cloud Dodgers's Topics
Great work Craig! However I belive that Wat Tyler Country Park would be best location due to huge Light Pollution from refinery in Cavey and new container port with huge logistic park in the future in Coryton. Perhaps location north from Basildon or Wickford would be more suitable. After street light switch off this should be quite dark place. -
someone has to so the others can enjoy bed time

On the way from work (after midnight) I went to Pond Wood in Thunersley to see how street light switch off has reduced Light Pollution. Although I havent got reference pictures showing how it was before midnight, I have to say it was quite dark over there. Not as good as Dengie, but it was prommising. Have a look at my last post there: https://www.facebook.com/MySkyAtNight or if you are not on FB look there: https://scontent-a-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/t1/1654167_648342168561942_1648552572_n.jpg https://scontent-a-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/t1/1623638_648342161895276_286170642_n.jpg ht

Just came back from work. A13 from 5 bells to Sadlers farm was still lit as Xmas tree at 00:40 but A127 to my surprise was completely dark in some parts. Driving was bit more difficult than usual but wit bit more caution it was ok. Wysłane z mojego GT-I9505 przy użyciu Tapatalka

On the way back from work I have heard on the radio that Kent County Council will also introduce part time night street lighting next year. When it will finally work on both sides of the Thames we might have quite dark spot in SE England Wysłane z mojego GT-I9505 przy użyciu Tapatalka
