Milky way single 10 min exp

I took this on Monday night with my Canon 400D + CLS filter and Canon 17-40mm f4 L lens. single 10 min exposure. I think it needs a lot more exposure.

Magnum, where in Kent did you manage to obtain that ? I'm in Sittingbourne (I'm not proud, but I needed somewhere to live). I'm off to Wales for a trip soon, and hope to catch some proper dark sky there. Also have a little spot in France that i think will work well. But have some pretty basic kit right now.
