Duncan.p The equipment is as follows:

For the full disc image-

Skywatcher Evostar 120 achromatic refractor stopped to 100mm with a Baader solar filter (homemade from a ventilation pipe fitting, card and sticky tape!).

Canon 1000D dslr camera (unmodded).

HEQ5 mount, motorised but unguided on a pier in my observatory.

For the close-ups-

As above but the camera was a Philips SPC900 webcam (from Morgans Computers) and a 2x barlow.

The full disc pictures were all from a stack of 64 JPEG's at ISO100 and 1/1600sec.

Each close up image was an .avi of 4 minutes duration at 10 fps (= 2400 frames around 1000 of which were used in the stack).

Both were stacked in Registax5 and processed with a touch of false colour in Photoshop CS5.

Long & Lat lines kindly provided by "Tilting Sun" freeware (who I regularly forget to acknowledge!!).

Listy - there is a "little Earth" in the top right corner of the annotated full disc to show the size of the Earth.

Hope this helps.
