GazOC
A couple with an ED100 and DSI. The first with a reducer, the second without. 10 frames stacked, not Photoshopped though - no point in putting lipstick on a pig.

russ
that's good stuff Gaz. M53 is a small little blighter. The second shot has the better focus. Get 20-30 of those stacked.
Jamie
Its only a start to your imaging venture.I would advise that you tart the pig up just the same... Keep it goin mate..
GazOC
Thanks guys, I think I will get the lipstick out on the second image over the next couple of cloudy nights. I was really glad I got the whole thing to work, I'd never drift aligned before and the Meade software is quirky to say the least (I know, a 'bad workman' and all that ) so I might try Maxim next time out.I was going to get more subs to stack but when you accidently kick the mount and 03:30 and spoil your drift alignment it kind of saps your enthusiasm.... I learnt two things last night, 1) drift alignment is nothing to be scared of and 2) The Meade 'magic eye autofocuser' doesn't work! Onward and upward.... Astroman
drift alignment is nothing to be scared of Thats' what I keep trying to tell people! Once you do it a few times, it becomes less and less of a big deal.
Jamie
So Astroman/Gaz i take it that drift alignment is the most accurate way to set up your mount????
GazOC
Its certainly easier IMHO.

Kaptain Klevtsov
Yeh but is it more accurate for imaging???Much more accurate.Captain Chaos
Astroman
It's much more accurate because you can literally see the errors and correct them. It only takes a minute between adjustments to see the errors. I highly recommend it.
