It's very difficult to capture this and the rest of the chromosphere at correct exposure because the flaring is so much brighter. Montana Posted September 8, 2011 Share Posted September 8, 2011 A beautiful couple of images of a flaring active region, a lucky catch!As Mark says, you will always get white saturated pixels during a flare event, that's what makes the picture spectacular.
