Stellarium - Are there any IC catalogues?

I do use Stellarium quite a lot and have got all the latest downloaded catalogues. I do wonder if there are any extra catalogues I can download? I'd like to have the IC targets on Stellarium, but don't see them on the normal downloads.

Have you loaded all of the catalogues? I have IC objects in my Stellarium V 0.10.6.1

I find that it doesnt highlight them, but will move the screen to them, then if you zoom in you can see them.

I thought I'd loaded all the catalogues - I'll have a look. I asked about the IC targets as when I put a search in Stellarium never has them.

It just doesn't look so pretty...

Joking aside ... I use Stellarium for a quick "simulated" look at whats up when and CDC or TheSky6 for detailed planning...

I don't bother with scope control anymore preffering to drive it from the handset...

I have Carte du Ciel on my laptop, but recently added stellarium, which has a couple of options CdC does not have (especially in the display department). I will probably keep using both.

I have found IC objects from the word go in Stellarium (IC10 and IC 342 where the first I checked out).

Stellarium V11 has loads of IC numbers, shame it does have those line drawing around the nebulars , I like that in Cartes..

That wasn't a dig at Stellarium, I just find CdC a great program to use when searching for obscure objects. I actually use it in conjunction with AstroPlanner V2, which has a database of over 200 Catalogues and interfaces nicely with CdC.

What ever works for you is the one to use.

Both Stellarium and Carte du Ciel are free. So why not install both?

I can't seem to run CdC quickly on my netbook (slow when panning around), maybe it doesn't have enough go in it, Stellarium seems to work no probs which is a shame as I like the look of CdC.

Strange, I find the opposite on the ol' ACER laptop (WinXp)...CdC runs very well and Stellarium just chugs like a tired bus.....
