Im that much of a beginner i dont know what or where telescope house is?

:D

Here ya go:

www.telescopehouse.co.uk

I believe they're the oldest telescope dealers in the country - possibly the world. Main UK Meade importers and dealers AFAIK.

They're the main retail outlet for the parent company Broadhurst Clarkson and Fuller Ltd aka Fullerscopes - they used to be based in London but now they're in Tunbridge Wells.

Hi and welcome to SGL. Do you have a mount, something for the telescope to actually sit on ?

Chub

Was hoping that it would come with the reflector

but will be looking at upgrading later on

Im now 32 and just found an interest in astronomy so testing the waters. so to speak.

i take it the baytronix 6'' reflector is rubbish?

Hi

If you havent got a mount then for a little more money (and that wont be the last time you hear that phrase :D) have a look at this.

http://www.firstlightoptics.com/proddetail.php?prod=s130pm Steve has a excellent reputation and the scope has had some good reviews from people on here.

Afraid I do not know anything about the Baytronix but did find this after a very short search in google.

"Baytronix 150mm 1400mm Short Tube Newtonian

Is it a Decent Telescope?

The short story: No, avoid this scope under all circumstances". From cloudy nights forum

I got a webcam from ebay for £30 pounds (postage included), the Philips ToUcam Pro PCVC740K. With your scope, the camera will show just a bit less than the Full Moon (27.5 arc minutes). When you put the x2 barlow you will get x2 magnification.
