Best software for 1000d and live view?

Hi

I've just bought a 1000d (modified) and was wondering what the best software is for connecting to the camera while it's on the scope? I know I could use EOS Utility but i suspect there could be something better.

I use EOS utility as it's free!!

The other software often used is APT and BackyardEos

Thanks. I've just tried APT and it seems pretty good. I'll try BackyardEOS now and see how it compares.

EOS utility does all you need for a DSLR and, as said above, its free!

PS Just one trick to watch with it. If you are setting 60 second exposures and you want a pause between exposures of, say, 10 seconds you have to set the delay to 70 seconds (ie 60+10=70) - very confusing until you work it out!

APT is excellent, with onging development and support. Developer listens to users. Highly recommended.

I use the EOS Utilities and it does everything I need it to without any problems. It's free as well. So the software list for me is:

EOS Utilities to control the Canon 1000D

PHD for guiding

Cdc to get the scope pointing in the right place to start with.

i have just downloaded eos utility and remote capture not easy without the disk but they look excellent its going to make focusing much easier
