Here are two pics of the recent sheet lightning display over my hometown in Bavaria. The lightning show lasted well over 2 hours with hundreds of flashes in the moving clouds. Funny thing with this sort of lightning display is that you dont hear any thunder to go along with it.

It was truly fascinating and the best one I have seen for many, many years.

I have made a video ot it too. Originaly it is just over 7 minutes long, but it is playing twice the speed. See how man flashes you can count. I couldnt keep up after 20 seconds Sadly the weaker strikes are not as visible as I would have liked... watch it, I am sure you wont be diapointed on the lightning action

Very atmospheric up in the clouds like that.

We had a storm this morning, it woke me up. It definitely had noise to it and was as soon as the flash happened. Shame I was still in bed.
