PST Has arrived!!

Scopes N skies delivered my PST today on time and very quickly actually...

Unfortuanlty there is a something lose knocking around inside... i suspect that the finder is broken as it can not get it show anything.. it seems like i the sun just doesnt want me to have a good look at it

So i will take it back for a refund on saturday.. gutted!!

thats irritating mate hopefully they will sort for you.patience is something us astronomers have to have by the bucket load!

The solar finder image is produced by a very small prism inside the black box, this image, a bright spot should appear in the frosted circular mirror on the front top of the box. If this does not show when the PST lines up on the Sun and there is a rattle inside it could be that this prism has come unstuck. I have to say though, one I removed was very difficult to do so.

i am driving to the store sat morning. ill hope to try the one first. if the finder works hhowever i wont be putting my eye near it

The "optics" for the PST finder are simply a minute pinhole forming an image on a semi transparent screen, no heat and hardly any light, you look at it rather than through it!

the views throught it are stunning, i had a quick look today and was very impressed, i was correct it is the finder that is broken, its a great match for my GSO plossls

Sorry to hear it has been with fault from the beginning! I hope you get it up and running soon, equipment seems to be failing on me as well atm
