Final Accessories

Recommended Posts

Dear fellow astronomers,

Can someone please show me a link or write a post on what accessories I will need for my Skywatcher 200p Dobsonian - including clothing, eyepieces and dew shields etc.

Also any good places/sites for viewing the Cosmos - Does anyone know a astronomy club in Manchester that I could join and is there a group where people meet up from Stargazers Lounge?

Many Thanks,

I see you're in Manchester... Well, depending on what you can afford after buying everything else, a holiday home in the Canaries ought to be on the shopping list. That should guarantee you some great stargazing nights ;)

On a more serious note, I can't do without a fleece hat and fingerless gloves.

Hi

I would suggest the following.

1/ Star atlas

2/ Red torch

3/ Dew shield (made from a camper mat)

4/ Flask of tea/coffee/soup whichever you prefer.

5/ Notepad and pencil

6/ Warm clothes, hat and gloves if you feel the cold

7/ Observing seat of some description.

8/ Something to put your atlas, flask....etc on

9/ A collimating tool either a laser or a cheshire eyepiece.

10/ The darkest sky you can get to

Good Luck

Steve
