Hand controller leads?

Hello peeps

Are the hand controller leads just standard RJ11 cables? i want to extend mine and the only official one is £20.

What type of controller is it Alan? On mine they look like RJ11 but are slightly different. Can't remember the name of them but it's been asked on this forum before.

its the hand controller that came with my celestron mount, i dont know of any model number for it.

It could a standard RJ45 network cable.

No they are defiantly not RJ45, I'm a network engineer by trade, normally I would just make up the cable and crimp it myself but one end is sealed so I can't see if it's a straight 1-1 crimp or if there is any crossover involved. Power from the mount powers the hand controller so I didn't want to take any chances no matter how small the risk.

On my HEQ5 it is a completely standard network lead. I have actually used one when I needed to use the handset further away from the scope than the standard leads allows...

The EQ6 however is a different lead.

I think the OP wanted to extend the cable between the handset and the mount rather than connect a PC to the handset...

Yeah thats right i have my HS to PC lead what i want is to extend the handset cable, it sooooo short.
