Which RDF to get?

After seeing lots of positive reviews for RDFs, I am thinking of getting one soon. Can anyone recommend which RDF to get:

Revelation Advanced Red Dot Finder

or

Telrad Red Dot Finder

If anyone knows a better substitute or for a cheaper price, then please do tell

Another vote for the Telrad. Big, but not too heavy, takes proper size batteries and works a treat.

Nice and simple, with no dewing issues. Mine has a dimmable red dot and is still on it's original watch battery, after 18 months use.

I have the Revelation version. Its got a big window compared to the SW version, so easier to see the surrounding sky. You can also get a mini dew heater for it if needed. Having said that, I'm mainly an imager, so all I need is a dot to align the goto system. If you are visual, and intend to do star hopping, then the Telrad may be better since it has FOV rings to help judging distances. It is a lot larger though.

I use a Rigel Quickfinder. It has circles like a Telrad, only it is smaller and lighter so suits my 5" & 6" scopes. Best accessory I ever bought.

I've had two Telrads for over ten years now. They still work perfectly...

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I understand that the telrad will be more useful that the red dot, but I am tempted by the red dot purely because I can use it on my airsoft guns due to it having a 'clamp'. Does anyone know how the telrad is placed on a scope; does it have a clamp like the revelation RDF ?

The Telrad is attached with double-sided tape.

The Telrad is rather a cumbersome box which you attach to its base (via thumb screws) which is stuck to the tube via double sided tape.

I suspect that you don't have one with comments like that. It is large, but lightweight.

Telrad,fantastic-and you can stick it a rifle with tape if you want.I have a seperate scope for my Weirauch....the Telrad is so easy to set up and use.

Only used the Telrad, but very happy with it (mines attached with a large cable tie which was meant to be a tedmporary arrangement but worked so well I haven't bother to change it!)
