tonight is the night, I'm actually gonna get it together to carry my scope up onto dartmoor. As i live there i only have to walk quarter of a mile and i'm in complete darkness on top of a big hill. i need to see some galaxies before the moon pops up. Hopefully i might be able to see andromeda for the last time this year and then look for the virgo galaxies. I've got a sw150pl so it won't be too hard a slog with the mount and tripod in a rucksack and the ota in my hands.:)

Up the A386, before Yelverton turn in (left) by the golf club.

Think there is a car park on the right, or carry on round towards Crapstone and pass a few houses, there are large flat areas there. Watch out for sheep and the horses!!!

The road will circle back towards Yelverton if you carry on along and take a right. It is all flat off the road, but visibility isn't good for walking round because it's DARK.

Eyes work well, binoculars great.

Never tried a scope, didn't need one.
