  2. what a pain in th ars@ the philips spc web cam is!! wasted good 2 hours messing with the blumming thing, trying to get a image of m42, strange thing though Saturday got image of Sirius and Betelgeuse, stars, but cant remember what i did to pick up stars. So frustrating. Had a look at Saturn tonight coming up early now. Quite good clear night, WASTED.

    using philips spc 900 web cam on heritage 130p usinga screen capture software straight from avi wmp.
  5. Hi Isabella. yeah it was more or same here in uk. had Barlow on, but Saturn was low on horizon @ 9pm /15 degrees and rising, ring visible, saw one of the moons.

Hi all, yes it was blinding! came up about 7pm. above the houses, had to put filters on, a bit of a yellowish glow, some cloud about which spoilt the view, got more footage with the philips spc web cam 900. Waited it out for Saturn to come up, struggling to see it with finder scope, had to use binoes to work out where to put scope, on full power 9 mm x2 Barlow, just about saw it yellowish blob!! that was around 9.00pm

Hi all, been out with spc 900 web cam, finally got some footage of moon, and Sirius,and Betelgeuse. had to shorten the truss tube on my heritage 130p by 70mm and strip a barlow down to get cam up and away from focuser, got set up on moon , bit of gain and exposure and THE CLOUDS ROLLED IN:clouds2: :mad:what a pain, been struggling for weeks with this cam,:icon_scratch: any way had a go at jupiter, trying to find mercury, in low west horizon after sun set still no joy.:dontknow:Finally got some footage of moon and sirius and Betelgeuse, trying to get to grips with Registax!:confused2: ah well Rome was not built in a day!!

    first go with philips spc 900nc web cam. with IR filter on web cam.
  9. i know the full moon can influence tides, in spring and winter, to do with the moons gravity pull on the earth.
