  2. hi, Isabelle, let me know how you get on with it yours Paul.
  3. Hi all, it rained here at 4pm here in UK York, cleared up about 6pm so i grabbed the heritage 130p and set up, quick look at Orions sword, and Pielidies never disappoints me, over to Cassiopia, i am trying to find Andromeda, quick look on the stellarium, and well a bit disappointed just a smudge not the cigar shape i was expecting! using 10mm ep. If it was Andromeda. been pulling my hair out trying to find rose nebula, i lnow its off the shoulder of Orion betelgeuse and a bit down, theres a pink dot? is this it? i was on 10mm ep. More power mr scotty said captain kirk may be the case!!

Hi isabelle, yeah thanks for that, i have some celetron sky master bins 17x70 and the pull in a bit of colour on pliedies, stars are blue, mind you they have bak 4 prisem lens in, i will invest in some more ep`s probabley the revalation kit, my 10mm ep is good but could do with more mag or is it resolution? I was told at local astro club magnification is a dirty word and its all about resolution?. yours paul.

    Scopes N Skies

Another was Rother Vally Optics i bought a sky watcher sync scan 130p blumming thing was hope less goto mount more like not go to, or wrong object, had nothing but hassle with the scope any way phoned them up, they would take the scope back but......will have to deduct 12% off my £249 has was second hand! WTF, a call to trading standards and under the distance selling act on the web when you buy, you are entiteled to a full refund, a letter to manager soon stopped there little charade. In the end they were ok about it.

    Scopes N Skies

Telescope house was no better, they sent me my scope heritage 130p the scope, main mirror was covered in grease!! had a right job on cleaning it off, i e-mailed them and they said hey dont check the boxes or scopes prior to sending them out has they reckon it invalidates the warranty on the scope!! they were not bothered. wont be using them again.

    no colour?

Hi there all, sorry if i appear a bit thick on this question? But why is there no colour when viewing objects e.g Orions sword, pleidies, only see black and white, i have a heritage 130p reflector 25MM and 10mm ep only, do i need filters? or is it a case of bad light pollution? or other e.p sets? thanks yours paul.

    Scopes N Skies

hi there, i had a bit of bother with them, i ordeded a scope they took the money off my card and sent me nothing, they said my card was declined, but 1 day later took the money!! it took them 2 weeks to give me my money back, they said they have refunded it but they did not, had to ring up every day. Finally got it back.
  10. HI, ISS you can find on NASA web site, give times when coming over there smack on. or you can use stellarium and it shows all the satalites flying around i clock at least 3 a night when out with scope.
  11. Hi, potter i have just bought one of these, had it 2 weeks let me know how your getting on with yours . yours paul.
  12. Hi again, Saturn the planet is tilted towards me, rings are solid grey, you can make out the blackness at the ends of the oval, no cassini divisions. tried a phone camera to get a picture but to fiddly to hold small lens on middle of 10mm ep. yours paul.
  13. Hi Isabelle.i read your post about hands freezing to scope and you nearly had frosbite!!you must be well keen, how do you cope with them temps!!, we have had -6 here in York UK in December and the country almost came to a stand still! been out this morning 6am -2 again Saturn was not has good a lot of thin white cloud not quite fog? still ok though, ISS flew over at 6.38 managed to get scope on it, bit of a bonus that was. yours Paul.
  14. -36 thats well cold, where are you?
  15. Well, i bought the heritage 130p flexi tube, and been out this morning, i had set my sights on venus and saturn, venus was easy, it was blinding, could not focus in on it properly, it was flaring really bad! i was thinking the scope was out of collimate? tried my 17x70 bins there were the same, any way took me a while to find saturn in the south west in virgo, i had the 20mm lens in just a orange blob! so i put the 10mm in and a little focus and....saturn i was well pleased!! quite bright and could see rings, and its moons, had to really concentrate my eye and keep still , i must have stood there for half hour or more looking at it, i did not want to move scope to some think else! By now the moon was just coming up above the houses i had a look at that, really impressed with the detail on the 10mm eyepiece, then back to saturn!! again, back to the moon then saturn, but the sun was coming up and the sky brightened washed saturn out. On the whole i was pleased with my first early morning outing in the cold, bit dubious about the scope, but its came up trumps, i had a sky watcher syn scan 130p auto but could not find anything with handset, slow to move round. i sent it back to shop. also had a celestron 60 retractor but that want up to much, jupiter quite good, moon good thats about it. Also i have a pair of sky master 17x70 binoes these are brill really sharp, but a little heavy to hold still.
  16. Well after weeks of studying scopes and prices, i narrowed it down to four scopes 1, celestron nexstar 90slt mak 2. dob skywatcher 8inch 3. skywatcher syn scan 130p newt. 4. skywatcher skymax 102 mak. I bought the choice 3. but...........a few beefs about the syn scan handset, there`s no on off switch on the main mount, you have to pull the power socket out, and when you power back on the time and date has to be put in again, also it does not ask you for your country your in, only time zone , i suppose its early days yet has i have only owned this for three days so i may be doing it wrong? tried a factory reset but still does not ask for my country, goes on to +- time zone. any one else had this problem. i have not star aligned it yet, has weather has been ****, scope seems ok been looking at far away trees in shed door way! oh yeah batteries don`t last 5 mins, i have used a multi power adapter with different ends on, set it at 9 volts has the 12 volts setting puts 17.1 volts in to the motor, when checked on hand set! the park scope mode is good feature. we shall see how it performs when we get clear skies. bye for now.
