  6. Seeing has my wife likes to go to bed early! 9pm watch telly etc, i took the binoe`s up so i could see ISS coming over last night at 9.28, i was sat in bathroom with window wide open waiting with the sky masters binoe`s. must have looked a right perv hanging out there, ISS was good, low in sky very bright, wish i had scope out it was travelling quite slow, i reckon i could have tracked it with the heritage dob, for a bit more detail.
  7. went out for a look at ISS last night coming over at 9.04 for 5 mins so the NASA website said, had my 17x80 bins out what i thought was ISS, blumming Chinese lantern!! DOH, anyway did manage to get the correct object now heading east, very bright and in low orbit. Had a quick peek at Saturn with my scope out, now heading in to south, not much out at 9.30pm. Was hoping for the Lyrids but looks like i have missed them yet again, been cloudy here in York most nights, and foggy haze in early hours.
  8. hi Todd thanks for that i will have a look tonight around 10 pm, if clear? are they hard to see, what should i expect to see on my heritage 130p scope?
  9. Its tha time again, any body have any info on the lyrids? and where to look? directions and best time. thanks yours paul.

    How lazy am i saturn

Isabella, if i went round to there houses and asked them to turn there lights off, i would get told to fu@k off, and probably get my head kicked in!! people dont give a sh@t here in this street, its like the Lebanon, if you know what i mean. i was going to buy a bigger scope but no chance of that round here it would probably get nicked out the shed.

    How lazy am i saturn

HI Isabelle, yeah i tried out side, but the light pollution is terrible near my garden, there were halogens lights on all over the place! oh and some one with a 40 inch plus tv distracting me flashing away. Saturn was better in my dark kitchen. Even tried the sky watcher light pollution filter out side but no difference . some nights i have to hang blankets on the clothes line to block the light from neighbors gardens.

    where is saturn?

HI, usually saturn is below spica, saturn is a yellow blob, i have 15x70 binoe`s and can just make it out, at 8.30pm saturn is 12 degrees up and rising, use stellerium to track saturn and star constellations its free on inter net very good i use it alot.
  13. Well had a quick go tonight with scope , Saturn was up early- ish , and our kitchen is facing east so i set up scope in the kitchen!! on work top and i viewed Saturn! nice and dark in kitchen with the door shut!, was surprised the scope looked though glass, mind you the glass in our windows is very thin!!, not magnified. saved me going out side ,cold wind tonight. Got my Saturn fix!! P.S i wish people would turn there halogen lights off!! why there on all the time amazes me, there elec bill must be though the roof!!!.
  14. Hi ,yes quite productive, M36 M38 in Auriga not really looking for them, using 32 mm just having a scout about and found them!waiting for Saturn coming up south, quite bright, viewed double star Mizar in Plough or is this a tripple? Pliedies now low in west never fails to amaze me, and Perseus, orion now lowering to west horizon not seen due to houses in way, Even my daughter who"s 21 was impressed at Saturn! (usually not interested in things like that) i was out from about 8.30 till 11pm.
  15. well i have set my scope up at tea time ready for a clear evening tonight so the forcast says here in york uk, we shall see what happens!!

    ALL CHANGE

Good to tell summer here in uk, constellations changed, got used to orion, pliedies, Perseus etc, going to have to learn another section, out last night laid on floor with binoe`s could not make any thing out, mind you rolling clouds did not help, i will have to study Patrick moors year book 2011. Hoping for a crack at Venus and moon this morning, and may be Saturn, but it was raining heavy here in York, been low cloud cover here this last week, mind you tonight looks promising clear blue sky's @6.15pm.
  20. 2nd image good with other constellations in background.
  21. Has any one had any trouble logging in today? i have, would not except my user name or password! reset it still not doing it. tried for 2 hours! strange though i am on now! the password was 8 letters but when you copy and paste it, it was 11? change password and i am on now. His this because i have gone from Google chrome (keeps crashing since upgrade 2 days ago) using Opera now.
