  1. Welcome to the lounge, and I wish you every success with your endeavors.
  2. You should try plugging in a 12v DC power supply (centre pin positive). If it still doesn’t work then it could be a myriad of things causing the failure. This will require a more thorough investigation. If it does work then it’s either the contacts in the battery compartment have lost tension, or have become oxidized. Retention the contacts and check the wires are connected ok. Good luck 👍
  3. Nice little set up you have for yourself. Clear skies my friend 👍
  4. What are those black circles in your image? 🤔
  5. What are the secondary adjustment screws? A nice evaluation of this scope. Trust Celestron to come up with innovation.
  6. Well if you are actually using one and not noticing any I’ll effects that’s good to know. I am just thankful that I don’t have to contend with the levels of dew that you do Mike.
  7. For myself a dew shield is as far as I would go, as fitting a secondary heater surely must cause convection currents of air at the front of the scope. We are told to try and avoid observing directly above house rooftops for this very reason. A secondary heater must surely be worse than rooftops. That’s my two cents worth.
  8. Hi 👋 Welcome to SGL.
  9. I also have the Zeiss lens wipes but I only use them for cleaning the body and barrel for which they are great. For the actual lenses I use the Baader wonder fluid with either the Baader microfiber cloth or a Calotherm Cali cloth. For pollen or a fingerprint I will use ROR on the same cloths.
  10. I’m wondering how he changed it from 6v to 12v. The motors are rated for 6v and the tracking speed electronics are also all 6v. If it’s all working fine and the sidereal tracking is accurate then you are onto a winner.
  11. My next addition to my Morpheus collection. A 6.5mm this time. The search continues.
  12. The tension control on the Stella Lyra is done by turning one or both side knobs which are capable of accepting the 2” ES eyepieces. The Allen key is only needed to alter the pivot point of the tube. I must admit that I do like the large alt bearings on the Bresser.
  13. Your lat/longitude is fine, mine for instance is 51 44’N 1. 13’W. Whilst in BST (summer time) I believe that it’s Yes for daylight saving. If not I hope someone will rectify it.
  14. You don’t need to do any alignment procedure before you can slew the telescope. All you need to do is enter the lat/longitude, elevation and time etc. You need to select YES for daylight saving. Once done it will ask to begin alignment, Yes/No . If you select No, you can slew the telescope and track targets should you want to. Your settings for lat/longitude seem fine.
  15. You have to check that any power supply has the correct polarity ie: centre pin positive. This should be marked on each power supply. Where did you plug it in? The mount or the handset?
  16. Hi @badhex mine was all good as well 👍
  17. This small order was delivered by the “Postie”. Just a Baader Planetarium optical wonder cleaning kit and another desiccant cap. I was fed up with swapping a solitary desiccant cap between my scopes.
  18. Hi Lucas 👋 welcome to the lounge
  19. Hi 👋, a warm welcome to the lounge.
  20. It’s for the 8” Dobsonian. I think the outside diameter of the scope itself is 9.5”
  21. Couple of much needed dew shields for my Dobsonian and Maksutov
  22. Getting to a dark site and realizing that you’ve forgotten something 😱
  23. Looks identical to the Stella Lyra eyepieces that FLO sell
