  1. Hi Paul, Have you tried to contact the UVEX group. I could not see any copyright notices on there site. They may be happy for you to use the Calibrex PCB and software. It would be a shortcut to getting a LowSpec calibration unit. I have loaded there software into a Arduino Nano. It works as it should from a Voyager Dragscript. I beleave Prism is mentioned and shown in there Vids. Regards Graham
  2. Vlaiv I have had a Creality CR-10 V2 for about 3 months and I would recommend it. If you look at the Ender 3 pro there are a few upgrades you would want to fit. Well the CR-10 V2 has them already fitted. Motors seem quite so no motherboard upgrade. BLTouch auto-leveling sensor. All-metal feeder assembly. Capricorn Bowden PTFE Tubing. Extra bed area is good but I certainly don't need all that height. I don't think I could wait that long for a tall print to complete. I did look at the Prusa i3 Mk2 but for the extra cost and looking at how much use it would get I compromised on the CR-10 V2 3d printers are not plug and play (at least not consumer printers) It takes a bit of experiment and lost prints but it is quite satisfying to draw a part and then print. You wont know which project to do next I`m trying to get up the courage to start on a Lowspec spectroscope🙂 Graham
  3. Hi I have been using one of these for a couple of years now. I fitted a couple of brackets on the back to allow for a more secure fitting on the mount. It has five outputs plus a powered USB, three outputs are switched, all are fused, LED indication. Mine cost just over £12.00. They seem to be out of stock at the moment, maybe Chinese production problems. A model shop some ware may have one. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyking-powerstrip-fuse-protected-power-distribution-board.html?queryID=f652c9d2778130497b5237eefc3bda50&objectID=38455&indexName=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products Yes £400-£500 is a lot of money to spend. I rarely uses the switches on my Powerstrip and very never have to cycle the USB on and off. I have a SharpSky Pro that runs my focuser and dew strips. I did own a Powerbox for a couple of months then sold it on. I shouldn't have justified the cost to my self🙂 Anyway £12.00 well spent, great value. Graham
  4. Steve, I run AAG unit plus the Solo 24/7. I think I read somewhere that it was better for sensor that is permanently powered. Graham
  5. You know I thought the unthinkable. Balancing make a lot of difference. Hope you get it sorted. Graham
  6. Helen, Comets Have you got access to https://groups.io/g/Sitechservo I did a search and found this thread its fairly recent. There are a few threads relating to comets. It mentions database files that have moved. https://groups.io/g/Sitechservo/topic/72776012#31326 Mesu "strip down the mount, remove everything, clean, and redo all the cabling etc" Why? I think if you have a problem. First thing to do is contact Mr Mesu. Graham
  7. Steve Are you closing voyager first or the fits viewer. I often start closing programs then find the fit viewer is sitting in back still running. After all it is a stand along program. I don't remember having any problem though. Graham
  8. Ray I carnt see anything that will connects to the telescope automaticity in the CdC Command line options. So it probably best if you really need that feature to email the CdC developer. In CdC check it is set to Force J2000. This is in Setup-General-Server. Graham
  9. Steve Are you running Voyager and all programs that are connected to Voyager as Admin. This is the recommended way to run Voyager. I know users have problem if some software is not set to Admin. Ray No there is not a way to have CdC connected to the telescope on start. It starts CdC but does not tell CdC to connect to the telescope. I think I asked about this when I started. But as Voyager is supposed to be running in "Auto" a lot of users dont use a Planetarium. You can run External scripts from within DS So you could have a DS that connects all your equipment and connects CdC to the telescope. I hav emailed the CdC developer in the passed and he was very helpful. Hopefully he can tell you what is required for your External script Graham
  10. Things may have changed but I think you can download the software. Set all you equipment up then activate the 45 day trial when you are ready. Dont quote me on that 🙂 Graham
  11. Hi All Try as Borris would say Tiny steps. Try a few simple DS, Look through the examples. These are in the DS editor, top left icon, Preloaded scripts. If you try to control your whole observatory remotely on the first night. There is going to be frustration, problems and you will probably walk away. Which would be a great shame. If you are sitting and supervising your imaging. Give the "On the Fly sequence" a try. There are lots of settings that you will probably be familiar with. They may have a slightly different name and be in a different place. But you will soon get use to the way Voyager does things. Then you can move on to the next stage. Graham
  12. Ok Load my Events file (further back in the thread) Drag Block element from list on the right in Editor Elements. See https://voyager.tourstar.net/index.php?title=DragScript_Elements Hover over Script, You should see a grey box and attached to the mouse pointer. (the box tells you where you can drop elements) Now go to the new block and Insert your code from the file. You can then Drag and drop elements into Block 1 or drag elements from your block 2 up to block 1. The Elements in your block will not move out of there block using the green arrows. Second method is a quicker method particulaly if you need to keep the whole block. Drag new block as above. (block 1) Insert your code from the file onto block 1. Drag your block 2 onto the the script. Delete Block 1 Graham
  13. Are you all reading the Wiki? 🤔 https://voyager.tourstar.net/index.php?title=Main_Page Graham
  14. Steve Just try inserting you saved DS into the script section of my events file. Events, suspend and resume are only of use if you have some sort of weather detection. The error handling is important. iF OK passes to the next block. IF ERROR can take you to your Terminate Session block. Closing the roof and shutting down the system. Graham
  15. Steve, I start with a template which includes the Events. Got these from Wiki Examples. Then add your code either written or inserted from a file below the script icon/block. (at the top). Are you trying to insert a file into the Events section? I dont think that is possible. But I may be wrong🙂 My Events include custom camera warming section and Fans on/off. You can delete and edit as required. Seems to work for me. Graham Events.vos
  16. Ray No problem with questions. You will very soon find out the depth of my knowledge🙂 Voyager is aimed at imaging automation so thats why I think some thing arnt visible. Features you may not have seen. The Fits viewer Robclip Have a look at this database. 200 entries. You could set up you own https://forum.starkeeper.it/t/my-roboclip-database/1173 RoboClip
  17. Ray The filter can be selected but is not displayed in the panel just below the camera panel. The filter currently being used is shown in the Monitor panel and at the beginning of every image as it is show in the Monitor window. Rotator angle can be set in your DS. In the Dashboard it is possible to set the position angle as the image is composed. I haven't got a rotator so have not used this feature. But I presume it is sent via Roboclip when the target information is sent to Voyager and then imported into you sequence. Graham
  18. Mike, That's good to know you can run two instances of the software. I`ve not kept up with where the Array software is apart from what i read on the Voyager site. Are you happy with how things operate on a single PC? That is good the here feedback about Moravian support. I find it always helps with my purchases when you know there is good support and backup. Graham
  19. Dave I think Voyagers Array setup uses A vitual machine or to or more PC conected on your Network. Its mentioned about half way down the page. https://software.starkeeper.it/ Dashboard is a web page, so it should work. Graham
  20. Steve, I should have read your post more carefully. You were referring to Dome control in the Dashboard not in general. The dashboard although it has the capability to control voyager its primary role is to allow supervision of a running DS. So the Dome and Flip Flap control is taking place in the DS. I have requested Remote operation of Viking. So that should come along soon. If you want to operate remotely. (Obs in the garden) a setup DS would be easy to do. I have only operated on the same network and not truly remote. You mentioned offset focusing. Leo has tried to go for quality data so he thinks Focus on each filter is the way to go. Users of other software have requested filter offsets because that is what they are use to. But the way the focus routine works again is different in Voyager. You do a First light focus run then after that focusing is fast on all filters. Another thing that is different is that a Guide calibration is done at the beginning of a sequence and after a Meriden Flip One thing to be aware of is that your AAG CloudWatcher or whatever when running a sequence “On The Fly” only flags up a Suspend event in the Monitor window as far as I can tell. No action is taken. So watch out for rain. In a DS if you have a Suspend and Resume event. The run will pause and resume when things are clear again. As far as Guiding is concerned. In the Sequence setup you can only select Roboguide or Native guide control (Maxim DL in your case) So in the SetupForm/Guiding you could try selecting None. That may do what you want. Have a look at the Ascom Sky Simulator. It works well with Voyager and will let you try most thing in the day. https://sourceforge.net/projects/sky-simulator/ Graham
  21. Hallelujah You have discovered Voyager. I have been running my ROR observatory with it for almost a year. Leo the author has been improving it all the time. His support is second to none. Email direct to Leo usally get a quick response. I am tempted to buy a second Esprit 100 and upgrade to the new Voyager Array System for complete operation of a duel scope rig. I think the Voyager works with a 1 hour limitation. Which is great to get everything setup and working as you want. You can then when the weather is cooperating activate your 45 day trial. At least that's how it did to work. Leo has his own ideas of how the software is developing and really sticks to his guns. Things that your favourite software has may not be Leo`s way but usually Voyager has something better. You have discovered the web dashboard. I just car`nt believe how good it is. Planning shots and mosaics is so easy using the Virtual Field of View and Roboclip. The only problem with Dragscipt is the name Script. It can put fear into users but it is not scripting at all. Its all Drag and drop and is very powerful. There are sample scripts included in the Voyager download and on the Wiki. Easy when you get your head round it. There are a few Voyagers on here. Hopefully we can answer questions you have and help with the learning curve. Graham PS Steve, Have you looked in the setup form (spanner and Screwdriver icon) Dome. Lots of Dome setup stuff in there. If it has a Ascom driver then Voyager should be able to run it.
  22. Hi I've thought about a All Sky Camera in the past but could never find a suitable second hand camera. This camera has got me thinking about it again. What lens would you recommend for all sky use? How wide an angle etc. Graham
  23. + 1 for Voyager. Its very reliable. Runs my observatory with no problems. Nights can be automated as much as you want using the built in Dragscript utility. Dragscript is dead easy to get use to, don't worry about the script part. Its more like a drag and drop programming language. Voyager also integrates with Maxim v5 which is a plus as you already have it. As Mike said above the fantastic web dashboard is unbelievable. http://www.starkeeper.it/wdash/?107 Remote control of you setup, Framing shots, and mosaic planning. The focus routine is fast and never fails. https://software.starkeeper.it/ Regards Graham
  24. Hi Do any of you have computer with time and capacity to spare. Did you know it could be used to fight the COVID-19 virus. There must be a few pixinsight users out there with power full machines that could help. Although every little helps and even the old pc that is in the loft could be dragged out to help the cause. There is a small SGL team which has been getting through a lot of work units but more help would be appreciated. https://foldingathome.org/ Some of you may already doing this, so well done to you. But for those that are not. Have a read at Folding at Home site and please consider joining us. SGL team is on 257799 Many Many thanks Graham PS thank you to the SGL mod for allowing this post.
