Just recently bought and received my EQ6 but haven't set it up yet. I'm in central Florida, the heat and humidity is brutal probably 300 days a year. Its not like it will get wet if I set it up in the observatory, but I worry about all the humidity. What are your thoughts on protecting it? This will be my only mount and it has to out last me!

I would never laugh! I'm still shooting single images with my Canon. Most I get are substandard compared to the exceptional astrophotographers here on the SGL. But I do this for my own pleasure and I enjoy every image I take. Seeing better images here just inspires me to keep trying!

I would have loved to gone to the Cape to watch it, but just couldnt work it out. Settled on live streaming with our sky clouded over from earlier rains! Another successful launch. I'm not really going to say civilian or even normal people, but to only train for 6 months and not have a professional astronaut along is another step into history!

My baby was finally delivered! Between time saving the funds and the two months waiting while it was back ordered, I feel like an elephant father. Close to 2 years! And the images you see of one doesn't do it justice! It really is a beast.

Owls are amazing in flight! Such a silent stealthy predator! I would definitely hate to be a mouse!

All I'm going to say is I am as nervous as an expectation father. Got the email "your order has shipped" and my checking account depleted! 🙂 Strange, the weather has been terrible since I placed the order!
