  1. 30 mm and 20 mm have similar fields of view from the simulation, however the 20 mm will have higher contrast. Will the a filter ( UHC or OIII) work better in the 30 mm for some reason???
  2. The APM 30 mm exit pupil is 5 mm whereas the 20 mm is 3.3 mm... Is your Ethos 21 you most used EP at this range?
  3. True. Here they (all the EP's I'm looking at now given the price rises) are on a 130/F6: No other pro's and cons between the 20 and 30 mm? Field stop is around the same, whereas eye relief is more in the 30 mm. Would the 20 mm have more contrast?
  4. Apart from the obvious products (NV) I don't think anyone thought they would be caught by this. 😃
  5. Talking to other dealers, some cameras are classified as civilian or military application (dual use) which is complicating the paper work at the border.
  6. Given the cost of TeleVue, which ones would you buy and which ones would you buy another brand as you don't use them enough?
  7. @FLO Some cameras are being classified as dual use, how is that effecting orders?
  8. APM prices are going up 5-15% from the start of March. The 20 mm will be going up the most. Delivery times will be a little slower as different courier who can navigate the border (handling, charges etc) is being used. Thinking of getting: APM 30mm Ultra Flat Field Eyepiece 70° APM 20mm 100 Degree AFOV Eyepiece Need to sort out a 25 mm now.
  9. Did the Televue OIII make the difference, extra red spectrum filtered over the usual Astronomik ?
  10. If you stuck NV on your DOB I t would be like having a 50”, how much would one of those cost? Good thing you bought the Bosch appliances and not the Maytag. 😀
  11. Gavstar has the latest OVNI unit, not seen a full review but the phone pictures look amazing.
  12. Would it make a difference with a 40 mm 1.25” vs a 2” ep?
  13. What about the 24 mm ES-82? Avoiding Televue means I could get 3 premium EPs for the price of a Nagler or ethos.
  14. Looking at the cost of Televue based EPs, I could own half of some of the EP collections on CN and have spare cash for a NV monocular and see so much more, the richest of richest field telescopes. Being late to the party has benefits...
  15. Agema as well, ex TEC employees making doublets.
  16. You made up for it with two 76’s and a DZ...
  17. So no fungal infections then. if you bought the Russian fluorite lens you could of left your 150 mm scope in your observatory. 😀
  18. More common for dobs, main issue is having enough back focus. Since my Baader T2 prism is lacking in that should split the difference. Filter wheels are better than trays in they keep dew off the filter. Long discussions on CN on pros and cons. Cost is also less than trays. Limitation is a tray can be swapped between scopes.
  19. Interesting read @John . Ok the Pentax XW 30 is back on the list. Need to look as Explore Scientific more. I'm thinking if the APM (good value), ES have moved on (increased in capacity) so much maybe don't need the Nagler, big investment. You could buy a full set of HR's for a Nagler 31mm.
  20. How many 2 to 2.4 mm EP’s out there? Ok Barlow it is then.😀
  21. The cost of a 130mm F6 lens cell is £3799, so for almost 100x the price you get...
  22. You need a filter wheel more then me...

Trawling the CN threads and the 31 mm Nagler seems a default in each EP storage box, why does it @Johnjustify almost double the price of the other premium EP's around 30mm? The ones that jump out to me are: Televue Nagler 31 Explorer Scientific 82 Series APM UUF TS UFL The Pentax and Vixen are good, but are reportedly behind the others.
