  1. Looking great there Peter, let us know how you get on.
  2. I thought I heard the caveman language ftom here lol, I'm pleased you managed to source an sd card on your treasure hunt, I hope you manage to get a bigger card sorted for next time. I think the max size card for a 450d is 32gb. Let us know how you got on tonight 👍📷🔭🌌
  3. It definitely is a game changer this thread and goes to show you can do deep sky imaging without an eq mounting, the thrill is in the fun of it when you see the results possible here
  4. Looking great, a thing of beauty there, clear skies
  5. Can you format it in a pc first maybe then put in dslr
  6. Fantastic image there, the 72ed is a fantastic scope
  7. You'll do great, just take your time 👍
  8. Thanks Gerr, yes a bit learning curve this but well happy with my set up now, I've a star adventurer pro 2i due to arrive from FLO wgern stock arrives, sdo will be able to get longer subs then and more detail
  9. It does look in great condition, get that battery charging, I'll be listening towards the nw and expect to hear sounds of wonder, clear skies and good luck 🔭📷🌌
  10. These are my images ftom last night on my sw 72ed, az gti and Canon 600D. They comprise of M81 & M82 plus a cheeky NGC 3077, M3, M53 and the Leo Triplet. They are iso 1600 35 x 25sec subs, 5 dark, 20 bias, 10 flat, stacked in dss and tweaked in ps. The Leo triplet are at 3200 iso, 35 x 25 sec subs, 5 dark, 10 flat, 10 bias. I'm pretty happy with these so far and only my second time on M81, M82 and the triplet. My first efforts on M3 and M53.
  11. A fantastic image of yours there @Gerr, you must be proud of it. Here's my attempt with my sw 72ed, az gti, Canon 600D. Iso 3200 35 x 25sec, stacked in dss and tweaked in ps. I'm pretty happy with this, only my second attempt at the triplet. Framing a little off though.
  12. I'm nowhere near that yet lol, as I try to image a few at first then hone in on one or two to image, when I'm more experienced I'll try stay on one target and image, probably when my star adventurer arrives
  13. She is a thing beauty that's for sure and definitely needs treating well with the creature comforts of an obsy, I'd love one but I set up in communal area behind my flat so not practical, I love my portable set up, she's a real class act.
  14. Good luck, I've just come in from imaging the Leo Triplet (amongst other targets) on my evostar 72ed, az gti and Canon 600D, though only 35 x 25 sec @3200iso is all I can manage though as I'm still green at this slippery slope 😉, clear skies
  15. Christ that's one beefy set up and looks a beauty. Love your obsy, that's my dream.
  16. My imaging session tonight, beautiful clear skies and great transparency with good seeing, a slight wind and quite cold. Thanks to my daughter for bringing me a hot cup of coffee as I can't leave my setup. I managed some data on M81, M82, M3, M53 and Leo triplet all at 25 seconds on my evostar 72ed, az gti and Canon 600D. Just hope they all come good in processing moro, clear skies to everyone who can enjoy it.
  17. Great image that, well done, I'd love to image the ISS transit, hopefully soon 🌌🔭📷
  18. Thank you Kat, it's in az mode and no wedge phew I qualify, I've been out tonight and got some data on M81 and M82, M3, M53 and the Leo Triplet so hopefully they come good in processing moro, I did get these on Monday night, this is the first time I've ever imaged M81 82 and Leo triplet as never had the 72ed before, it's been a revelation to use. Images taken with sw evostar 72ed az gti, Canon 600d, 1600 iso, 15 secs subs, flat and bias, no darks, 20 secs on leo triplet. I've managed 25 seconds tonight at 1600iso, stars could be a little eggy but will see
  19. That's a great haul you've got there, hopefully you'll have clear skies to use them, top effort
  20. Good luck with the slippery slope Peter, let us know how you get on, clear skies 📷🔭🌌
  21. These are my selection of images from last Monday with my evostar 72ed, az gti and Canon 450d, trying the no dark calibration way, still hot pixels but not to bad except for the M42 image, just need more lights next time. Its the first time I've ever imaged M81 and 82 along with the leo triplet only 15 second subs as using my az gti mount. Hopefully tonight I can try more subs if it stays clear. Please be gentle with me 😁
  22. I saw the advertisement for this last week and was wondering about it for my communal area and how it would fair, be interested to see how you get on with it. Clear skies
  23. Great report that and lots to see. We had nothing but high cloud and saharan dust, just hoping it clears today with wind direction changing
  24. Hi Here is a link to comparing the sensor sizes, there's hardly any physical size difference but resolution is higher on 600d, the reason I bought it was for the articulated screen. https://www.digicamdb.com/compare/canon_eos-600d-vs-canon_eos-450d/
  25. I have an az gti in az mode, does this count to no eq imaging?
