  1. Hi Joe I keep the tube in doors and tripod is a side building so I have to keep removing it off the rings so next time I mount it I have to rebalance it

Just hoping it's going to be clear Saturday night , it's always clear when I am at work , that the only problem being a weekend watcher , you never know I may get back on days at some point I having no luck finding a dovetail conversion so may have to make ( Wilcox rings ?) So the telescope goes back in the same place each time I have to remove it off it's rings

It's the other side of were the go cart track was the layby is on the left , when you get to the roundabout for caxton stay on the 1198 there is a big layby just there on the left but if you pass it under the road bridge there is a ramp on both sides of the road for the farmer to get in his fields there is a great spot you can drive off the road and set up on the edge of his field and if your hungry go passed that point turn left at the roundabout there is a kebab van there till late

Hi Bryan I am not far from you at Luton , Orion is an easy one to start with I am new too ,if you go up the 1198 towards Cambridge there is a big layby in the middle of nowhere and the road is dead at night and the sky is dark really dark get a red light torch so you don't mess you night vision up

Well my Celestron powerseeker that was sold to me as new unused ,if you remember it was more used and abused well last night the focuser went bad so it's no more Got a new toy not brand new but new to me I got a pristine skywatcher sky scan 2001 on the EQ3-2 mount OMG it's so much nicer to use even the motor off the powerseeker fitted to it , just need to adjust the red dot scope and all will be good The 150/750 F5 makes so much difference , any way him up there decided I was having to much fun so gave me cloud cover . I am a very happy guy

  11. Hi I only have basic set up telescope red dot finder I can undo both clutches and telescope does not move but it's only a small 114x700
  12. Hi is the focus lock on small thumb screw on the under side they are duel speed one knob is fine adjustments if your using the telescope for visual your need a coma corrector as this telescope focal length is for a camera
  13. So I still need camera , I will look at this once I sort everything else out
  14. Ok thanks I think it may have to wait a bit . I have not told the bank manager that the new telescope is coming in at well on its way to £1400 with mods and upgrades lol

This is an amazing forum with amazing members on it , At no time do you feel stupid asking questions which is how it's ment to be I have had so much help I don't know if I could every repay everyone for that , I Work nights so can't get to my local club so this is my main stop for help and information i read most posts on this forum as the info may help me one day Great work everyone and THANK YOU

  21. As I am new to this I am trying to find an easy way to find planets the Philips planishere has so much into on it which is great but a mind overload lol So is beetle juice going supernova or has it already but we don't know yet ?

As Ships and Stars said any book will be out of date by the time the UK has clear night I am very happy with the book , I went on the link when posted on another thread , the main part that's out of date is the lunar Eclipses goes from 2000 to 2011, planets positions etc all tables are out of date All end 2011 If they tell you in the ad you can look for newer one but this may be the last print I have the Philips planishere which give me the info up to 2030 Your right the link has lunar Eclipses up to 2032 so saved it to my kindle

  24. Still a great book I have a Philips planisphere that goes to 2030 so will use this in conjunction with the book
  25. Hi John I am not to sure ,it said updated edition 2011 , so I think it's a 2011 book can't find any other dates on the book Found another listing for the book same cover etc and that's 2000
