  1. Nice! I think it's a Uni 18.. Looks just like mine, same height & everything, but the legs on your's are slightly tapered near the feet hardware.

  6. Oh definitely. I don't understand why those don't come standard with all Berlebach tripods. I had to order one separately for the Uni 18, but it's incomplete without it. You just can't see it in the pictures because it's hidden under the tray. It's attached by the black knob in the center of the tray.

  9. Here's my first real scope, Meade ETX-125. I really enjoyed this little scope, but ended up selling it about a year ago. It just wasn't getting as much use since I added a couple other scopes to my arsenal.
  10. I recently took my scope [130 f/7 ED Triplet] out to a dark site [dark blue on the light pollution map] for a couple nights. I have some relatives that live out in the countryside away from all the city lights. One thing I noticed was that a UHC filter is much more effective with dark skies than it is in mild/moderate light polluted skies. Case in point, the Rosette Nebula [NGC 2244]. From my light polluted back yard, regardless if I'm using a 10" SCT, 10" Dob, or 5" Apo [*with UHC filter], I can usually only see slight differences in brightness & darkness around the Rosette. I basically have to stare at it for several minutes before I start to notice any nebulosity surrounding the central cluster of stars, and it's still hardly distinguishable. From a dark site, it just pops right out clear as day. Even my relatives, who have no experience whatsoever with observing, could see it without any trouble. "It looks like a Christmas wreath." I used to think that UHC filters were better for blocking out light pollution [to an extent] so the nebulae could shine through with less interference. However, they perform much better from a dark location by increasing the contrast features of certain nebulae, just as their name implies.
  11. I've seen them called "Morphei" quite a bit.. Also see "Ethoi" used as the plural form of Ethos, but I just keep it simple with an apostrophe [i.e. Morpheus' and Ethos']
  12. I also prefer the ES 92, but it's in a totally different league than the Morpheus and about 3x as massive [its only drawback]. I'm really looking forward to the expansion of the 92º Series. I was betting on them doing a release of new models at NEAF this year, but the show ended up getting cancelled. Anyhow, I didn't really have the Morpheus for that long, so I didn't do a comparison between the two. However, it would probably be a better comparison between the Morph and 17T4 Nagler since they are in about the same class [size/weight/properties]. For 1.25" use, I'd say it would probably be worth it. It's a really good eyepiece and gets a lot of positive reviews.   13. Another difference in the 13/100º and 14 Delos will be the way the view is presented. The Delos has a designed long eye relief so you ultimately get the "floating view" effect, whereas the hyper-wide field 100º will give you the sense that there is no edge to the field. Personally, I seem to pay more attention to the edge of field in 70º [+/-] eyepieces than I do with 100º because it is more noticeable to my eyes. The edge of field in 100º EPs is almost always in my peripheral vision; the only exception for me is when I am viewing planets with a non-tracking mount.
  14. They're pretty good! I tried the 17.5 Morpheus, and it has about the same properties as Pentax XW & TV Delos. It's sort of like an offspring of the two with a slightly wider field of view.

  16. Thanks! I haven't touched the objective lens yet, but I'm starting to notice specs of pollen that can't be removed with a blower tool. However, I've learned that cleaning should only be done absolutely necessary. "Touch ups" usually turn into smudges, and smudges have a bigger effect on the views than dust particles.
  17. How do you remove the dew shield? Does it just unthread, is it coupled together by the silver band, or what?
  18. Here's my LX90-10". I ended up removing it from the fork mount and mounting it to my Orion Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G. Also updated the visual back to a Baader ClickLock, changed the focuser to a Feather Touch Micro, and went with an 80mm Stellarvue finderscope.
