Played around with the little Starwave , for fun, and of course serious research, i used my svbony 3-8 with a 2.5 x powermate to try some ridiculous magnification on Saturn . Image was of course quite dim but , nontheless , it was an acceptable view . Back to a more realistic 4mm gave a sharper brighter view , using the AZ-Gti as an ideal mount for this little scope . Lovely just to sit outside and watch all the stars "come out to play" . This morning i was up at 5am and saw a brilliant Venus rising high in the early morning dawn sky . Also the moon , which is a lovely target just before dawn breaks .

I took this photo through the 70mm Starwave of the so called Blue Moon .

Set up the starwave 70 on a GTi mount and away i went ... passing clouds did nothing to spoil my views last night. Saturn was reasonably close to the moon which was hidden (fortunately) behind a house . I used my 8-24 svbony , and a televue 2x powermate which , so in effect a 4mm giving around 105 x mag . Observed a few doubles and was outside for about 2 hours . A really nice session although as soon as the moon appeared only the brightest stars were viewable . Just happy to get some time outside .

Agree entirely ... i think they get a bad press becuase some FH's are plastic and tend not to be smooth . Buy the right one and it will do the job admirably . The Innorel F80 is a big chunk of metal and the panning is so smooth , plus it reaches the Zenith too , and the handle can be extended if a longer scope is used .

Hi , i have an innorel F80 on a berlebach 112 report tripod . I previously tried the F60 but the 80 is so much better ... bought off amazon £ 83

I get the "not sure why " bit ... but , once you put that little scope on a small mount and sit outside under a clear sky you will know why . You can lose yourself for a few hours in a sea of stars .

Just to add my experience ... my Sony 1 iv worked fine but now i cant even use the camera with the app.. however my iphone has no problems and works . I think there may have been an android glitch caused by a security update .

It’s certainly an achievement.. no doubt but it’s questionable . Having said that , look at the USA … a mass of poverty with many living on the streets and the worst debt in the world .

IF , i am to buy one it will be the 60mm , with the extender ... i really begrudge paying for the cradle , but ces-la-vie . Already making up excuses as to "why" i need it .. 1 Research 2 Easy to Store 3 AstroBiscuits description of the "best small scope " Not sure if any of those will wash ... but at least its small enough to hide 😃

The one thing i will say about FLO is that you can instantly see if something is in stock . With Rother Valley you constantly need to send enquiries which takes up their time to answer.... sometimes it takes a fair time for them to answer . Also i had a good "chat" with Chris at FLO the other day regarding a scope and i was really appreciative of his helpfulness . I can get that with Widescreen too though as i know Simon ansd Elena very well .

Living only 5 miles from Widescreen Centre i agree with you . Mind you when i was living in hertfordshire i started at 5;30 am , drove to Rother Valley and then returned to Ely cambs before 10am . The things we do for astro gear !

That is very true , and something i will use when trying to explain to my wife when i want to buy one ( Saw your post after i had written mine , but i suspect it will be the holy grail in excuses and reasons to buy astro stuff)

I will let you into a little secret, BMW is overated 😃. Whereas i doubt the Taks are
