  1. All my gear is second hand so 50% less of the cost. In fact my double stack 60 mm Lunt was £2,000. They cost new £5,000 + who could afford new. Also I was lucky enough to get good etchalons that compliment one another.
  2. Just enter Lapland Aurora webcam in your search engine. That should bring it up.
  3. Awwww, I see the grey cat too now you mention it, lol.
  4. Thanks Mick, appreciate your comments. I'll keep them coming when the clouds aren't around, lol.
  5. Challenging clouds today but managed some solar data. Lunt 60DS with Zwo Asi 178mm. False colour added in PS CS2. To many clouds to take Cak with the new Cak scope. Spent two hours chasing clouds and managed the data in the last 15mins, typical. Challenging getting even illumination because of the clouds. Not the best but at least it's something.
  6. That's brilliant news, easy to put the new one back on.
  7. Thanks Richard, hope you get up and running with yours.
  8. Lovely report, it's so exciting. Glad you are loving the hobby.
  9. I think the forecast says it's going to be cloudy, lol 🤣
  10. Just processed a FD of the Baader-Cak image, had to use a 0.5 reducer to get a full disk on the 80ed.
  11. Thanks, yeah, really pleased with the results.
  12. Hi all, my first trial with the 80ed and Baader-CaK filter and hershal wedge. Capture with Zwo Asi 178mm. False colour added in PS CS2.
  13. Thanks Jeremy, yeah, first light with the 80ed Cak after awful weather since the new year. Promising results today. I really like the CaK images, gives another flavour to our star.
  14. Hi all, included in today is my first light with the baader CaK image's with the new 80ed and HA solar image from today with the Lunt 60mm DS. 80ed plus Baader Double Stack CaK filter for CaK images (Purple/Blue). Both Zwo Asi 178mm. Colour added in PS CS2. Stacked in Autostakker3 and sharpened in ImPPG. Pic of the new Baader-Cak 80ed added for reference.
  15. Can you inject as car windscreens just to keep the integrity of the whole glass. Just a thought. Still have to mask off the damaged area though.
  16. Sorry to hear this, heart breaking. As far as I'm aware you can't just replace a corrector plate these are matched to the mirror. Has to be sent back to manufacture for repairs and usually not cost affective. Hope it's insured.
  17. Personally I'd be looking for a second hand Lunt 60mm and eventually add a double stack at a later date. I'm biased though, lol. I can visually see plage, filaments, prominence, spots, spicules, flares, the orange 🍊 peel affect, etc.
  18. Skywatcher autofocuser motor came the other day so fitted today to the 70mm Achromatic guidescope with hitec astro usb control.
  19. Thanks all, appreciate all your input. Just need some clear, steady skies, asking alot I know, lol.
  20. Hiya, my DS is a bit of both. The single stack is pressure tuned but the double stack is tilt turned so I'd guess you can get a better degree of overall illumination. Best to slightly over expose so that you can see where the illumination lies, is, off center or centered. Is off center tweak the tilt or even turn the camera or both. Until fairly centered. It makes the post processing so much easier. Imaging Technique to attain on band HA and full illumination By Nigella Bryant, July 1, 2020 in Imaging - Solar
