The problem with the bands I know what it is, It is unfortenatelly a build in problem in the sensor on the Canon 750 and 760, those seven lines, if you look carefully, do not go all they way out to the edges. I owned once a 750 and after I found out the problem I changed down to Canon 700D which do not have them, so you will have this problem as long as you use that camera sorry to say, that means when editing them away you will alwasy lose some of the object itself. 750 and 760 are not suited for astrophotography. On mine 750 the lines was most obvious if you split out the blue channel only. Here is how it looked on mine, same thing

    Looks like a galaxy that are in heavy work. Is it depending on the the black hole in the middle not being so strong thus throwing the stars and planets into eternety (not likely) or ngc 772 just ate another galaxy and is finishing the meal? The angle and appearence of the galaxy makes me wonder
  3. What happened with the background? The cresent looks good, 2 pictures combine or just protecting the cresent during editing?
  4. Tony, Yes the monochrome camera makes a very big differens especially when you can use narrowband filters. The narrowband filters helps me to get rid of the light pollution and they help so much that you can actually take nice shots from a city and you can even take photos when the moon is up My sky here always suffer from a little moist, very rare that it is not here and I suffers from a below medium light pollution, always. When I decided to buy the monochrome camera my shared part of lightpollution made me do it as I also was considering a color camera from the start. Then in your case 17x2 minutes is not very much to bring forth, what you seek as your data is more or less very hard to stretch, meaning many details is hard to get amongst all. Try to increase your session to 30-50x300sec instead or 100x120 sec (this you must test with your gear what is needed, maybe 60x240sec is needed), collect over a few nights if needed. If I on the other hand uses the LRGB filters as I have, I am in another category, because my light and moist polluted sky, the filters do not help here. But you will for sure need more than 17x2 in either case

    If of interest here is how I did: After combining the three S2+HA+O3 and streched the pic. I made a HA-clone and stretched that, when happy I applied sharpening on the streched HA-clone not on the image itself. (I have also tried adjusting the stars on the clone and it seemed to give a better result, not confirmed yet as I only have tested with this picture). Using MLT on layer 2,3 and 4 with below setting for the sharpening. After that when adding Saturation with LRGBcombination I used the fixed HA-clone as "L". Then the sharpening is transferred to the real picture in a better way I guess. Maybe it is only this picture and will not work on next, but this is how I did it

    Aha, I see, atually I did use sharpening but in a different way and not so hard as you say, so yes I am pleased with the result I got

    Thanks eshy76, I did not realize the many pillars until I was editing the picture, must have been blind when looking on others.

  11. Last week I managed to gather some pictures on Pacman during two nights, though my gear is not playing nice with me, sometimes I still am rather happy with the result. Processed in Pinxinsight with no calibration frames. SW 190 MN, ASI 1600mm, 300s: 48xHA, 35xOiii, 34xSii, 1x1Bin

  14. Very interesting and I don't fully understand. I understands that the spot is not moving by itself, not noticeable anyway . And I was thinking about the ways written here earlier, no wrong in them but I just could not get the math to add up. If the suns 1 rotation lap is aprrox. 25 earth days then the spot(sun) will move 1/50 as I had 12 hours between the first and last shot due suns rotation, noticeable but not much. Then we have earth movement compared to the sun, it takes us 365 days to complete a lap, thus my camera time was 1/730 lap, this two numbers will give an angle to make the spot(sun) move very little. During this time we also have the earths rotation to calculate. I cant calculate my own travel earth distance from my location in southern Sweden during 12 hours from shot 1 to shot shot 2. But I can guess and it would have been like 6000-8000km more or less, so the last number must have been more or less a number to ignore for the spot on the sun? This makes me curious as now The sunspot "appears" to have a new location but it has not, are we talking about the light is being bend crossing the atmosphere or is it only the "tilt" angle of the sun changing so fast or am I more lost than I was before? I see on the last pictures that the sun seems to be tilting very fast. Is this the simple answer that the sun is "tilting/wobling" so fast? Sorry my question but I am curious --------- I have now done some editing on one of my shot on the sun now through the white filter and I was surpirsed that there was some structure to find as well, color increased very hard on yellow/red
  15. Hard to imagen that we moves so much that a spot on the big sun (spot is bigger than Earth I guess) seems to be traveling across the surface in a very high speed. Even if a "Sunday" itself is around 25 Earthdays, the spot should not moved so much during 12 hours, so most of the movement is ourselves. Even that is hard to take in. And yes that pic of Saturn says the very same thing. I have not had time to check the spot today, but I beleive you. Thank you both for your help and time. Very interesting
  16. I bought a simple plastic solar protection film for my Canon to the eclipse occasion a couple of weeks ago. In Southern Sweden it was just around 1/4 eclipse and the weather was a little cloudy. Today I had a nice sky and decided to try my cheap filter again to see if I could get some better picture. I gets nothing fancy just the ability to take pictures of the sun. This is taken with Canon 70D and a Sigma 150-600 Cont. lens. The first pic I took this morning 07:52 I used 600mm and I saw a spot. that spot made me curious. I also have an x2 adapter to the lens so 11:08 I took some more pictures and filmed this time with the x2 adapter on and the spot is clearly visible now and it seemed to have moved some. A little while ago 17:52 I took some more pictures and the spot has moved a lot. The pictures is not edited at all except for that I have resized them to 50% of original size. So I wonders is the a solar spot or something passing in front of the sun? Picture 2 around 11:00 Picture 3 just before 18:00
  17. Hmm what happened? Oh I will continue here. The scope I owned is probably best suited for planetary and observing and it only got F10 so it needs rather much light and a dark site to come to its best. You can as I said get good pictures in the center area. This one is a picture taken with the 9,25 and a Canon 700D Baader mod. and it is of course rather much croped.
  18. I owned a Celestron C9,25-CGE (XLT),OTA 2350mm once. It can produce decent pictures in the center but when it comes to edges things got worse. I tried: Meades f/6.3 Focal Reducer/Field Flattener, Celestrons Reducer/Corrector f/6.3 and Starizonas SCT Corrector II - 0.63X Reducer/Coma Corrector
  19. 8 Months, that is respect, I can imagine your frustration if you did not know this before the purchase. Good info as it is always better to know then spending hours, days and weeks worrying if you will have the scope or not. Thanks Dave So now it is up to me to decide.
  20. Hello I have been thinking about buying a new tube for a long while as my Skywatcher MN 190 constantly disappoints me, sometimes it's good sometimes all goes to the bin. Been looking at "Orion Optics UK Telescope N 250/1200 CT10 Carbon OTA" My aim is for DSO photos only, mostly with a ZWO ASI 1600MM Pro I live in a little light polluted area and we almost all the time has some kind of haze here. This tube is fast f/4,8 so I think that it will be good for me and my location and the price tag is within my reach. Can't seems to find pictures taken with tube, maybe I am just not looking at the right place. Anyone whom has some experience to share on this one?

I can not understand that you accept the fact that skywatcher mount is filled with shards of metall and they could be so be, and in the same time comparing a dumb watch 9.99 with a Rolex, what does that has to do with anything? When I started this hobby I saw a fantastic pic. Ohhh I would like to take that one as well. After checking what this guy had for equipment, it would have cost me above £40000 to buy the same gear, so..... What does that has anything to do with my NEQ6? Yes it is an expensive hobby and the NEQ6 could be improved, but I disagree on what could have been improved without loss of money from the manufacturer, China always takes shortcuts and they are not interested in any feed back. But they could fix many issues without it would have cost them... too much. Buisness are buisness and as long as I buy their monday sample nothing will improve. And finally Malm-c Where you actually informing me that Astronomy is an expensive hobby as an info to me? If we all accepts this issues from a manufacturer that dont give care, it will never end. the problem is that this hobby is so small that the dealers have all the power.
  23. Not everything is a walk in the park, there are always two sides of a coin, and I have seen the other side of the coin, bad luck? There are many names of what it is called when you have bought something you should not, bad luck? In my case the dealer recomended this gear tube and mount and the dealer after purchase will not help. This is my story with Skywatcher and others and in some way as I am still writing here means that I have not lost hope I just got bad luck and Skywatcher will ever never be my choice again not only the mount but also the tube.
