It is true Celestron and Sky-Watcher are both Synta brands. I think Synta also manufacture some products for Vixen but Vixen is a separate company. Sky-Watcher products are not affected. All Sky-Watcher telescopes and mounts will continue to be available from specialist astronomy retailers 🙂 Steve

It is no longer possible to buy Celestron SE telescopes from UK specialist astronomy retailers. It is not only FLO, other UK specialist astronomy retailers are affected (they just haven’t updated their websites yet). The same will be true for some Celestron SLT series telescopes. They too will be available only from non-specialist retailers. I.e. photo shops and department stores. This is Celestron’s decision, not ours. Celestron’s SE series has been around a long time but it is a good design. We like the SE series. As far as we know Celestron are not planning to discontinue the SE series. I want to assure everyone who has purchased a Celestron SE (or SLT) telescope from FLO, we will continue to support you. HTH, Steve

That is unfortunate but it might still be worth you contacting your supplier. Perhaps they will discount the cost of a replacement board.

Your mount doesn't look old enough to be out of warranty. Have you contacted your supplier? Steve

Probably. There are a lot of accessories included in this delivery. If you have already ordered them then our website will automatically email you when your order is dispatched. Or if you email us your order number we will check for you 🙂 If you haven't yet ordered them then later today look for a green lorry on the product pages at our website. HTH, Steve

They are both right. You should discuss this with your supplier. Your supplier is responsible for after-sales support. Ask them to check your mount is performing as it should. The majority of EQ8 owners are very pleased with their mount. HTH, Steve

The ASiair Pro are still on back-order (the ETA on our product page is probably about right). We are receiving deliveries from ZWO but it will be a while before they are fully back up to speed. I.e. we received a quantity of ASiair Pro about a week ago but only enough to clear back-orders up to Jan 30th. So still a long way to go. If you are waiting until all backorders are cleared and we have spare stock then I fear that might be several weeks. HTH, Steve

We haven't yet applied the increase. We planned to yesterday but hesitated because after posting here saying the £ has fallen, it rose a little. And today it rose a little more. We are hoping it is a trend... We will increase prices later today but might need to adjust them a few days later. If you buy an ASI533MC-PRO now you will secure one at pre-increase price (saving £50-100) but please be prepared to wait because demand is high and they are in short supply. HTH, Steve

Atik have announced development of their the new Atik CosMOS camera has been postponed. "Unfortunately, we have some disappointing news regarding the upcoming CosMOS camera. Due to the global pandemic, there is an increased demand for diagnostic equipment that is being used in the fight against COVID-19. As you may know, our cameras are utilised in a number of these systems. With this in mind, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone our development work on the CosMOS and to refocus our efforts on supporting the design and manufacture of cameras for the life sciences sector at what is a vital period for that sector from both a production and, more importantly, humanitarian level. We are unable to say when work will restart on the CosMOS, but will of course keep you posted with any developments as and when the situation changes."
