Encouraged by prom reports I set up the LS60 only to find the pressure tuner had stopped tuning, it was ok a couple of days ago, thought it was a bit iffy yesterday and today it's having no effect at all, view is the same with it removed all together so just stripping it down to regrease and will order some new O rings.
Typical when there's something to see for a change
Dave
I assume you have unscrewed the PT and tried to spread a bit of grease from the chamber on to the rubber seal.
A new seal might be needed from Flo or Lunt.

I run mine with an ancient steam driven tough book.
I have phd 2, maxim 6,the sky ,CDC with team viewer to the house.
Your lappy should be more than enough to run your kit.

Nice set Steve, I planned to do a bit of solar today ( yesterday ) but got side tracked, are you out tonight ? just looking for Comet Africano here.
Dave
Thanks Dave it was an intermittent session this afters that was ended with "are we going shopping or what?"
Yes I'm out tonight as it has sort of cleared eventually and I'm back on the madness called sh2 129.
I was going to have a crack at a bit of luna but now i cannot be bothered to haul 132 & PC out there.

Nicely done Charl.
Missed out today but I have stripped and cleaned a couple of very very very annoying false sunspots off the chip.🔨

I seem to remember seeing one while driving into the setting sun in the early 80's
I have also seen a couple since through baader filters but without a scope.

Excellent image!
I've tried this through both 7 and 3 nm filters. I captured nothing at all through the 7nm, but the 3nm is very promising.
I came to the conclusion that OIII is susceptible to light pollution and any moonlight (compared to Ha), and I would never have captured it with the 7nm filter.
I did the 7nm in Scotland from home it really is only just above the LP noise.

What nm Oiii filter did you use?
Carole
Combination of 7nm and 3nm the 3 is better

You should be able to get a decent image with the C8
Leave the x5 in the box at the moment.
Check collimation.
Planets are very testing at the moment as they are so low down.

I would say its the altitude.
And the seeing has been mainly awful this year.
Try auto colour balance in Registax.
