Had a squint through the scope this morning and didn't bother imaging, faint proms on both rims and a small bright spot on the East side maybe, couldn't swear to it, can't see it on your image so probably wishful thinking
Dave
Thanks Dave.
I have not bothered today as fighting the fluffy things for a near blank disc is too much like work.

Lovely image.
Thanks for posting the details.
I have started this again the other night to go with the data from last year and did wonder how you managed the core.

Isn't the eyepiece angle a bit awkward on the Lacerta?
Slight angle to a normal diagonal with my WO 132 I think it is more comfortable.
I do like mine.

I have a BIG spider in a sort of funnel web in the garage and rescued a big bumble bee from its web, spider got really annoyed and I had to poke it with a pencil to get it to back off

So would you if I ran off with your lunch.

Good to hear, I have just got the Syn scan for my GPDX as the motors/cables/connectors have been playing up for a while.
I hope my fitting goes as well.
I might get it fitted tomorrow as long as I am not called to get the sewing machine to do its job properly - again, today I learnt the shortcut for " Oh dear the needle has broken again"

I've been using it to make star mask for use in PixInsight.. works pretty well. I've always hated making them in PI..
Is there a workflow to get it working you would share?

I've bought the program but can never get it it to do anything other than make a royal mess. This may be my fault but, as things stand, I don't use it. Maybe a case of 'must try harder.' I find it very clunky but Nik Szymanek recommends it and he clearly knows what he's doing - and some.
Olly
Wish i could get it to work on a regular basis.
I keep going back to it and occasionally get it to work.

I think in "View" if you "subtract main image from reference image" then save that image is the star layer.

I don't think I tried unguided.
I have issues with my SS2K and I think it is a break in the wire.
One day I will sort it out.

Yes I have used one.
It guided very well via ST4 connection and various guide cams.
I did have to fettle the backlash on the dec and in the end settled on guiding in Dec in one dirrection most of the time.

With my OAG I had to fiddle with how far it was in the light path to get a good round star.
Try sorting it out in daylight with a distant object - also a pencil is a good friend mark the drawtube whrn the main scope i in focus then mark it again when the OAG is in focus and that is the size of spacer needed.
BTW OAG stars do not have to be spot on in focus, with one scope i had seagulls as my guide stars and it still worked fine , not saying it was ideal but it orked.

I suspect that if the optics are clean and well collimated it would hold its own very well ?

Hope get some shorter subs to get the "eye" over the lighter nights.
