  1. I've certainly chosen the wrong time to get into practical astronomy! Bloomin' weather!!

      Find there is no point in really planning, weather is just too unpredictable down to the localities we need. The Met office idea of Clear is not I think our idea of Clear - have seen a weather map of sun symbols and a figure of 96% in the cloud cover column. Maybe worth geting half prepared. Best to have a small scope for when the chance occurs.

      To be honest, I don't think there is a right time to start up astronomy, especially in the the UK as we don't really have proper seasonal weather. So unpredictable.

      This weather is getting hopeless! And it's typical because I've been out of work since buying the scope and the weather has been awful. As soon as I start my new job next week and get less time I guarantee the weather will clear at night!
