  1. Thank you @davew . Yep, there is a tail. As you realised, I was deliberately squeezing the comet and our house into the single image...pretty cool
  2. ...visible in 15 x 50s. Single image 3s, iso1600, f3.5 Canon R8, Sigma 50mm. PS, no crop. About 20.45, Friday 22nd March. Moonlit above Low Row in Swaledale. Marked up on 2nd image. Hoping for better next week, weather permitting
  3. ...about 4 a.m. Saturday whilst clouds prevented Milky Way arc pano. Two panes, each 4 x 60s, f2.8, iso1600. Standard Canon R8 with Sigma 50mm. LR, DSS and PS. Paul. Click for better viewing.
  4. Interesting...way more signal to use, though trickier to process! Reach the light pollution 'limit' more easily. Certainly a bit more learning to do. A different style with this one, trying to show off the foreground without any lighting. Think that using the same sensor for foreground and sky makes the feel more consistent. I (we) need more opportunities!!!! Paul P.S. have updated the image
  5. ...interested to see how this renders. First go with astro modified Canon 6D MkII. Sigma 24mm. Sky, four vertical panes each 4 x 10s, f2.2, iso3200. Ground, four vertical panes each 2 x 120s, f2.8, iso3200. LR, Sequator, MSICE and PS. Interesting colours to manage. Clouds were a bit of a complication! Upper Swaledale about 04.00. Paul
  6. Made the most of that opportunity!! Thanks for all the background and tech. info. Paul.
  7. See also 'The Great Gig in the Sky' - Pink Floyd, perfect aurora soundtrack!
  8. Another aurora image from last night 3rd March about 20.30. I have a 'commission' with the owner of The Tan Hill Inn (Britain's highest public house) to take nightscape images featuring the pub 😀! A long term project owing to the exposed location and our weather. This was the first session, no wind and frozen snow patches. I get to turn out external lighting as necessary. This is the best composition featuring the aurora, pub and inevitable clouds. Cheers, Paul.
  9. Great set of images @Gerr ! Thanks for the technical info, my astro modded DSLR arrived two days ago Paul
  10. Great video Paul, making the most of it. I like the drone imaging! Cheers, Paul.
  11. Thank you @FenlandPaul I do like how this has turned out! A fair bit of LR to get some depth into the foreground. That is the 'natural' light pollution profile... ...cheers, Paul.
  12. ...foreground. 4 x 60s, f2.8, iso3200. Sky 9 x 60s, f3.5, iso1600. Landscape orientation. Canon R8, Sigma 24mm, MSM tracker. LR, Sequator and PS. Birkdale. Cheers, Paul.
  13. Added a more mellow colour rendition! Take your pick? Cheers, Paul.
  14. ...a quiet, calm and clear interlude before moonrise. It was lovely to be alone in the dark countryside under the stars. Birkdale. Sky 8 x 60s, f3.5, iso 1600 on MSM tracker. ~6 light painted foreground images. A bit tricky in the riverbed. Canon R8, Sigma 24mm. LR, Sequator and PS. Click for detail. Cheers, Paul.
  15. I do like the first image. The clouds definitely add to the composition. Not sure I fancy waders though!! Cheers, Paul.
  16. Thank you @davew the light from the farm was a tad bright. The main problem was the direction, it flattened the barn shape. Just enough variation to enhance the angles and give the building some form. Colour version attached. Cheers, Paul.
  17. ...under Orion near Thwaite in Swaledale. In the 'suckers gap' of a clear hour after a cold front passed through. Windy as... Colour images are an 8s single frame. Illumination from nearby farmyard. PS. Which do you prefer? Mono is several sky and light painted foregrounds. LR, Sequator and PS. Canon R8 and Sigma 24mm. Cheers, Paul.
  18. Excellent work! My personal taste veers towards the boat composition. I may have taken off a layer prior to a selfie, in the past...
  19. Thank you @davew yes, a small element in the image, but quite a feature. Cheers.
  20. ...first opportunity for some time! A couple of new angles at a much frequented location, Old Gang Smelt Mill. Canon R8 and Sigma 24mm. Sky component stacks of 10s, f2.5, iso3200. Ambient foreground stack of 60s. Light painted f5.6 iso800 frames. LR, Sequator, PS. Click for sharper images. Fantastic to be out under a clear night sky Hopefully others have similar opportunities. Paul
  21. Very nice. Like the impact of the dust on the colour. Thank you.
