If your mount is the az-gti then it already has capability of operating in EQ mode, the very first image shows the mount in EQ.

Did you get a lens as well with your camera?

Hi, the mount you have is being used by members to image with either in altaz mode or eq mode (eq with the available firmware change). It looks like you are running short of inward focus travel. Often using a barlow gets round this, what is you barlow x2?

I like the annotation with that

I've done this too, orbit is in the info screen on a target selected.

Is this to create a single image or do you intend capturing quite a few and then stacking them, and did you test this when outside pointing at the night sky?
-
From memory it had a much larger database, but I am happy with Plus version and it can control my virtuoso mount. For me personally I anticipate the pair will make set up easier as I can't see stars to easy to choose for alignment from light pollution. Hope to test this very soon.

My T ring using a micrometre measures 10 mm hence I made some spacers but I will try next clear night without the spacers. You've got some great images there.

I checked again and it is the Plus version I use and not Pro. I haven't followed tablets enough to comment on that one, though for using I think something to look out for would be separate power from micro USB.

I've found you can generally follow processes for photoshop using GIMP, layers, levels, curves etc are common across all and they are the tools often used.

The synscan 4 plus app by skywatcher works very well on this samsung note 4 to control a mount via the wifi dongle. I'm also using skysafri 4 plus and was able to connect to the mount as well. Maybe it's working as I'm using version 4 of the app, I don't know.

What to do on a very wet day... sort what I'm doing.
Virtuoso v1 and connected the skywatcher wifi dongle. Works a treat. Connected the camera to DSLR Controller app on the mobile and connected the skywatcher camera trigger cable to the mount. In testing I discovered that for the virtuoso to trigger the camera after sorting focusing I'd need to just remove the camera OTG lead from the mobile. Synscan pro camera control works a treat as an intervalomter once the DSLR has been setup in manual mode.
Next to sort SkySafari Plus talking to the mount at the same time. Once I changed the port number this worked too and could switch between this an synscan pro, perfect. Just need the weather now.

It was enjoyable looking through all the entries, and well done to the above.

A related update though I was using the skywaycher wifi dongle with the virtuoso v1, Safari Plus on android connected but the port needed was 11882 and not 4030

There are quite a few recent threads on darks and bias, I find with my canon flats are a must, darks and bias add more noise and I usually use dark flats but am just trying using a master bias instead for the dark flat file in DSS.

That's great to read you've sorted it now.

I use the same camera and get better results with less noise if I use flats and dark flats only when stacking using DSS, median on the dark flats works better than average for me. YMMV

you've just reminded me and given me an idea with this post, I'll be prepared for next time

oh thanks for the update, I had not realised the app was no longer listed
-
hi, if you have an android device the app sysscaninit gives the values to use
-
you could search astrobin using asi183 as the imaging camera to see what has been captured and whether it would be similar to your setup whilst waiting for replies, though you may want to share what lens or telescope you intend to use as well
I think on ZWO website they cover amp go

Hi
Being able to be comfortable while you observe is helpful as what you're looking at can drift in and out of focus, particularly when looking at Jupiter for example.
A warm hat.
See how you go with what came with your telescope, through what eyepieces came with it?

This is great to know the challenges will continue, thank you to all involved.
The three month span gives time for the weather to play ball too. I had to give up on the sun one as on month three it moved too far for my recording position to capture and too high and then behind buildings.

The Tardis was by far my favourite observatory covering, camouflage at its best.
