That looks such a simple design to be able to get both direction movements. What stops the turning joints from popping out?
Love the counter weight, simple but functional.

Rose or Heart nebula?

Beautiful, amazing, thank you for sharing this brilliant price of work. I love the identification overlays.

Do you have a garden (flights of stairs to reach it) or does it need to be ultra portable to get to somewhere else to observe?
-
Lucky it does that, on my 1100d it locks the mirror up but when you take the photo it drops it then raises it again listening to what happens in live view.
I'll try that 2 second delay :-)

They are bright.
Do you know the type of light they emit?
I don't know if a light filter would be of any use, depends perhaps on the spectrum.
Lighting greenhouse growing is very ungreen, is it flowers or veg?

On my list of items I want to see in mine are m44 and the Pleiades m45
My home made light shield has increased contrast in certain directions due to having street lights so close to where I observe.

Great images, Jupiter is really clear.
After plonking 580 grams of camera/eye piece on mine recently I realised that my T3 at 495 grams was going to be worth a try and your great shot confirms this.

My partner for Christmas bought me a lovely padded eyepeice bum bag, everything will fit and is perfect for keeping on me while observing I will keep silica bags in it to help keep it dry.

If the Virtuoso MAK 90 is the same as the Skymax 90 then the motorised mount of the Virtuoso is just £63 plus it comes with a star diagonal.
Thinking of putting my celestron c70 on fleabay and getting one of these seeing as another member said they put their heritage 130p on it, and it takes a 4kg payload the mount.
-
Found a comment today where a cable had been used to have Stellarium control the Virtuoso Mak to then be a Go To unit.
-
That looks interesting, I have the 130p too and it was almost the Virtuoso 90 instead.

Hi (and hello from me been having a look/lurk and search as so much to learn) would be really interested to see a user review of the heritage 114 as the net throws up diddly swat. Would be interested in the quality of the sightings, on the shortlist are the three heritage scopes because of their portability but am leaning towards the 130 as there is far more to read about it. Mainly for just looking and would love to see DSO. Any comments on the 114 greatfully receivedThank you Steve, I've ordered one to play with. Anyone want a Skywatcher 90mm Maksutov scope? lol

At least you could practice the outdoor imaging experience with the ST80 whilst hawking the secondhand pages
