  2. just downloaded IRIS to see what its like compared to DSS & R6......mhhh i cant figure this program out 1 bit!!! think ill stick to R6 or DSS IRIS looks very old

      WELL THAT WAS WORTH IT!!!! not only did i see and image jupiter! I BAGGED MY 1ST GALAXY!!!! M43!!!! :) and i imaged M43!! im over the MOON, not the best imaging but im very happy :)))

  5. going out with 2 mates tonight to view the meteor shower! as the next 2 days are due for cloud :( taking scope for 1st outing!!! should be an amazing night! looking forward to seeing jupiter and venus also for 1st time :D

      we got one of the best dark spots in uk down the road about half hour drive, my 1st proper dark spot viewing also!!! im BUZZING!!!! :D

      i will do qualia, im starting to find out its ok getting all the data, but its totally another thing processing the gb's of data and stacking and actually putting into a thread loool i got hundreds of pics now, just need to find a spare week to process them all lol,

  9. just looking on stellarium, kinda sucks saturn is nearly below the horizon :( did not even get much imaging done of her :(

  11. not been up this late for a while!! stellarium are showing these planets are visible right now!!... neptune, pallas, uranus, pluto, venus and jupiter! vesta and ceres, would i be able to see these tho?

      also im going to stay in london tomorrow on a boat, will there be much point taking scope? as im guessing i wont be able to align on a moving boat? it will be parked up bit still moving with the waves and stuff?

      bins willbe better for boating. as for torch. just buy ordinarry torch and cover with red nail varnish or red sweet wrappers.

      thanks rory, my father in law has got some mega bins, i grab them haha think they got image stabiliser on them too :D

      I've never really used TLAO, but it is a great choice. I think Sky Atlas by Sinnott is for me the essential read.

  17. i wonder how nights of the year we actually have a cloud free night? must be a VERY low % :(

      Very very few, thats why i recommend goto for beginners. Sometimes you have only 30mins of clear sky, and a goto can mean the difference of seeing somthing and seeing nothing at all.

      yeah its not as simple as point and click with the goto as i was expecting before i bought one, but once your use to it and the night sky its better :D
