Sky-Watcher EQ6-R Pro with Asiair Plus
mareman48 replied to mareman48's topic in Getting Started With Imaging
Thanks for the quick reply, Im using the ST4 cable, but I think that might be the issue, as its not picking up the Mount. Had a quick google search and its suggested to buy the EQDIR cable as per your link ๐ค and select EQMod Mount. Thanks -
Hi all, Hoping you can give me some advice on my setup. I finally got my Asiair Plus today, set it all up with the guide scope, focuser, camera and so on, everything is recognised and working except my mount. There is no EQ6-R Pro in the drop down menu so I chose the EQMOD Mount instead, and I just get an error, see pic attached. Im connecting the EQ6-R Pro to the Asiair Plus via the usb . Any thoughts or suggestions would be great, Many thanks

mareman48 replied to mareman48's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
Bit the bullet and bought it, was very surprised at the size, and the quality of the scope. Will keep the family off my other scopes, and its small enough to stick in my backpack. Money well spent -

Hi all, hope you are all keeping warm, safe and well ๐ค Im taking the leap from using a DSLR to CCD camera for imaging, so I'm looking for some advice from on which guide scope to use. After doing a bit of research, I have my eyes on the Starwave 50mm guide scope, but open to suggestion. ( no point asking what the budget is ๐ ) Many thanks

Imaging with a modified DSLR Camera
mareman48 replied to mareman48's topic in Getting Started With Imaging
Did you say that that's not right? These are the settings I use. 1. Exposure level increments - doesn't matter 2. Flash sync - doesn't matter 3. Long exposure noise reduction โ off 4. High ISO speed noise reduction โ off 5. Auto lighting optimiser โ disable 6. AF assist beam firing โ off 7. AF during live view shooting โ off 8. Mirror lock up โ disable 9. shutter/AE lock button - AF/AE lock 10. SET button when shooting - LCD monitor on off 11. LCD display when power on โ Display 12. Add original decision data - off Also: ยท Set mode to 'M' and exposure length to 'BULB' ยท ISO is 800 ยท Menu 1:Quality RAW (when shooting RAW things like exposure compensation, white balance etc. have no effect whatever) ยท Red eye off ยท Beep off ยท Shoot w/o card - personal preference ยท Review time -- your choice, I go for 4 sec ยท Menu 2 - none of these matter, but don't set just delete data, you use flats for this.
