  1. Was that a case you had lying around or did you buy it? It looks rather good and I like the space for books/documents idea.
  2. I have reported this many times as well as a questar they put up all the time. Somehow they seem to be hijacking legit accounts making it harder to stop!
  3. It works really well. The whole idea came from Dirk Steel [Matthew] and Stu here on SGL. Basically four scopes which will hopefully fit in to a Peli case I have. Just need to sort out the foam.
  4. The tripod is an Induro AT413 and the AYO is the MK1 version - smaller than the MK2. As you see it in FC76Q mode the damping times are ok - in shorter lighter modes [FS60CB, FS60Q, FC76] better. The FC76 objective and AYO were bought recently from a nice chap who did me a bundle price. :-) I don't think he frequents this forum though.
  5. The completed Takquisition plan ...........
  6. Or maybe Baader could come up with a 2-6mm zoom ......
  7. I like that! I love my 2.5 powermate - one thing I don't think I will ever sell.
  8. Ready for action - shame about the clouds! k
  9. Fantastic. I would love it if someone did an FOV calculator that showed you what you would really see like this. And allowed you to adjust the image for your local light pollution. Great post, thanks.
  10. The Dioptrx is a great idea. I have a little astigmatism but not terrible - only going to get worse as I get older! I wonder if something like this could be made as a 1.25 or 2 inch filter or if it needs to be at the eyeball end of the optical train??
  11. What is the best f/l for solar observation?
  12. In that case I shall just give it a gentle rub over with a duster.
  13. That is why this place is so great - I have just learned I own an Erfle! It is a very comfortable eyepiece to use. I understand some of the other f/ls were better than the 25.
  14. I also have a Megrez 72 - the scope I have held onto the longest! But this gave me some nice views of Jupiter the other night - despite the seeing. I actually bought it for the Polaris mount - which might be up for sale depending on how i get on with the Giro Mini I am hoping to get soonish. The scope is an 1970s/80s APL 80mm. As far as I could find out it was made by Vixen and is pretty identical to the old A80mf. F/11.4. The tube is actually a bit scratched in places and I was thinking of either re-painting it white or doing a carbon fibre vinyl wrap job on it - any thoughts?
  15. My humble offering. I started out with the Meade 4000 anniversary set and have bought and sold a few since then. This is what I have left. I use the Baader zoom most. Can't get rid of the TV plossls. BGO 10mm ortho saved from recent cull. The Antares W70 is very nice as is the very cheap WO 20mm clone. Currently thinking of adding Baader zoom barlow?? I now spend more time observing than swapping eyepieces. ;-)
  16. Lordy this is an evil thread! It's been days now with no food or drink and I am still only on page 33!!!!!!
