  1. Good thinking Batman , never thought of that , but turning it off during capture kinda defeats the object of using it as an aiming device. Will have to look into the SkyTrack software option but I'm not sure that it's an easy option.
  2. I'm going to get a holder for mine to use it as an aiming device when I start to try and get some decent images of the ISS . Did a quick test the other week to see if it would work to try and keep the station on-chip whilst manually moving the 'scope about with all clutches released , much easier than trying to aim through a finderscope and get your head round up/down/left/right with different tubes.
  3. Had to catch it early before the clouds rolled in , left the colour alone rather than showing another dull grey image ... Also caught my first 'interloper' in about eight years and quarter of a million frames ... ✈️
  4. Shot at the first opportunity this morning but only just stacked and tweaked ... Getting busy up there again , albeit in small bits and bobs ...
  5. Probably the worst seeing I've had this year , nigh on impossible to judge focus even ... 🙈 Plugged away regardless though and managed to catch a few to stack eventually ...
  6. Just watched that Cuiv chap for the first time , knows his stuff alright ... but not sure he actually paused for breath in the whole 53 minutes ... 🤣
  7. Nice new bits appeared to counter the disappointment of the other region fading to nothing .
  8. And I nearly forgot Doug German's excellent tutorials on processing .... https://www.youtube.com/user/namregd/videos
  9. Rob Dalby and the sorely missed Ralph Bell R.I.P. on the Astronomy and Nature TV channel are a great source of gen , especially for beginners . https://www.youtube.com/c/AstronomyAndNatureTV/videos
  10. +1 for Dr Becky obviously ... 🥰 And although not entirely astro , SciManDan deserves a mention in dispatches for his relentless destruction of all things Fl*t Ea**h ... 👍
  11. Went to sleep with a blank disc , awoke to a new growing region ...
  12. Plenty here to get your teeth into Stuart ... http://www.mistisoftware.com/astronomy/index_fits.htm
  13. Just have to wait and see , I suspect the forecast will be just as accurate as the weather forecast , great at telling you what yesterday was like ...
  14. Everything fighting me today , from dreadful seeing and whispy cloud everywhere to AS3 having hissy fits at the rubbish I kept feeding it .... 🤣
  15. Usual stuff , bit wobbly out there but hey ... 🌞
  16. Briefest of blue patches to play in , long enough for my needs though ...
  17. Much as per yesterday , blue but shimmering mess again ...
  18. Lots of blue but dreadful shimmering mess to aim at ...
  19. Another bright start to a day before the grey blanket descended yet again , was hoping for a play with my new ASI 174MM camera but it'll wait another day ... P.S. One for the technical maestros out there in the Mod team , any idea why Astrobin links and thumbnails don't want to play here on SGL ... ?
  20. Time to grab just 73 frames in the thin blue sliver first thing , not one was worth stacking by my usual picky standards so just slung the lot through ... 🤣
  21. And another's just appearred on t'other side ...
  22. Quick rough rendition from a handful of scruffy frames caught between the showers. Might get a second bite later.
  23. Hi Pete , Not that great but it clears the obstacles by 06:15 , which let's face is is plenty early enough to be messing about with telescopes and the like ... 🤣
  24. The close ups are great mate , and the disc is circular ... what more can you ask on a day like this ... 🤣
