Just seven frames through a thick grey blanket , but as it's the only sight I'm gonna get today you'll just have to put up with these megre offerings ...

So Barlowed you'd be at 0.37 , so you'd see about 2/3 of the Moon give or take ... ?

Don't know Pete , it was too hot here for me by 07:45 ... 🤣

An Oiii or a UHC will work as a contrast boosting filter for WL imaging to save you forking out for a Continuum , you probably have one or other in your DS arsenal ... You'll want the ND3.8 Baader film to accompny it though rather than the ND5.0. I personally use the ND3.8 + Oiii combo.

Lovely seeing first thing again , good job too as it'll be far to hot later on so I'm off back into the shade ... 🌞

They say you have to take the rough with the smooth ... but in this game you sometimes have to take the rough with the rougher and cross your fingers ...

A Canon EOS 1000D is what I use for all my Solar Imaging if it's of any help ... I don't own an i-Phone ( or any other type of smartphone) for comparison though ...

You would be better off posting the images in a format that allows us to see them , I'm sure I am not alone in refusing to download unknown files in order to view them. Sorry.

Probably an incorrectly entered 'Time' or 'Time zone' or 'Daylight Saving' information . Were you by any chance about 15 degrees off target ? -
Hateful seeing and a sky full of contrails sure takes the fun out of proceedings ... Did catch another interloper though which made me smile ...

Steve Ward replied to Steve Ward's topic in The Astro Lounge
My Berlebach Planet came from the Astronomy and Nature Centre when it closed down , cost me a single £50 note and didn't have a box ... -

Cleaning primary mirror.
Steve Ward replied to Dave scutt's topic in Getting Started General Help and Advice
After forty years working with my hands , mainly in construction , I would never dare try that finger method , my fingers are far too hard and calloused to put anywhere near a front surface mirror. The chap in the video looks like he's never done anything but tap on a keyboard and wash-up so is probably fine with it ... 🤣
