Found this thread on CN on the subject of the original manual. You could try contacting the person mentioned.

Congrats John - looks like this was the 3000th posting on this thread.
I wonder how many of the purchases were yours 🙂
I refuse to think about it and all the receipts are hidden safely away in a corner of the garage loft under a pile of boxes and old tools. 😁😁😁

I think we need a new section on SGL to deal with these types of threads. Call it “Fantasy Observing” perhaps? 😁

The one I have now iis actualy the TS version. Same as the Skytee but has mounting holes for a dovetail plate on the “white” end as well as the black end so you have more mounting options. The differance I noticed between the Skytee and the TS is that the TS didn’t suffer from backlash. Maybe better quality control or just luck?
TS gives the higher max load same as most give for the Skytee. Doesn’t come with any dovetail clamps but not a problem.

TS 152 OTA weight 8.5kg

If only the T-rex mount was still available. 😢

FLO asked SGL members for their real world Skytee usable max load recommendations. Yes the mount is physically capable of handling more weight but works better at what FLO now recommends.
So it’s real world experience vs a manufactures rating. The Skytee may not be the most sophistcated or best quality mount but it really works well.
RE: heavy duty dovetail saddles for the Skytee. Altair’s dual fit one is a direct bolt on. 🙂

The Tracer LiFeP04 batteries should be stored charged and topped up every six months.
They are a safe design unlike plain lithium batteries that can be dangerous while charging and can self destruct causing fires. They also deliver a “flat” discharge curve and hold their output voltage untill nearly depleted unlike regular gell cell batteries. Only downside to the LiFeP04s is the cost.
I use then for powering RC tanks as well as astronomy.

This could have something to do with it.

Yes a good progran despite the error in crediting Galileo as being the first celestial observer using a telescope. There are a few more episodes available on iPlayer.

Have you downloaded the full 49 page V4 manual? The little guide that comes with the scope is pretty useless and doesn’t tell you much.

Info on the first man to observe the moon through a telescope and make detailed sketches. And no it wasn’t Galileo.

Yes the tuner is very important. Just have to play with the settings to get the best image.
Although as mentioned not a lot to see at the moment.

In-focus may be the problem. If it’s a ZWO then one of these will help.
Also the tuner setting is important.

Best have a read of this fpr an explanation of what the screws do.

I think rear cell simply unscrews but you will probably need a strap wrench to shift it. There is also a large rubber O ring arpind the rear cell which pften breaks when removing the rear cell.

You can ZWO low profile cover that lets you get a lot closer than the stock nosepiece.

On those rare nights of really great seeing my old OMC140 with the best optics and carbon tube could deliver outstanding incredibly sharp views. Unfortunately this only happened a couple of times a year. Under normal seeing conditions gave soft mushy views. Was super sensative to seeing. Got fed up and sold it on.
My Bresser 127 f15 mak will give sharper views 95% of the time and is much better day to day (night to night?) scope.

Nice job. 👍🏻
A low cost focuser can be greatly improved with a bit of attention to detail.

Thingverse have an adapter that will do the job. Know anyone with a 3D printer?
