  1. Yeah mate. I lost about an hour's worth more due to crap guiding. Rescued 3 x 300s and 2x 120s. Cheers.
  2. Well, I thought my last time out imaging was a complete failure. Oh how wrong was I, thought I'd have a look at my data and there were a few salvageable frames. I'm blown away with what I got out of this in just 19 minutes exposure time. I've included 2 versions,. Which do you think looks best? Imagine it with a few hours worth 30/11/19 Preston, UK Rosette Nebula ES ED80 APO Triplet NEQ6 Pro Zwo ASI294MC STC Duo narrowband filter Altair GPCAM3 290m (guide camera) Software- APT, APP, Pixinsight 3x 300s 2x 120s Gain 200 19 minutes total Darks applied.
  3. Reprocess of the Western Veil and Pickering's Triangle in HOO palette. Any CC appreciated. Preston, 20/09/19 ES ED80 APO Triplet SW NEQ6 Pro Zwo ASI294MC Pro STC Duo narrowband filter Guide cam- ALTAIR ASTRO GPCAM3 290m 11 X 300s (55 mins) at 200 gain Darks, flats and bias applied Captured in APT. Processed in APP, PI and PS.
  4. Ah I see. That may be the issue. Cheers.
  5. Great image. I tried adding Starnet in Pixinsight the other day and for some reason it doesn't find it. I added the file to the bin folder and followed the instructions but it's not detected. Any ideas?
  6. Interesting as I'm thinking of the same thing. Selling my Altair guide cameras and going to Zwo to use the ASIair. Can you use a mobile or tablet using indigosky and APT?
  7. Cheers mate. I'm really impressed. The subs were all flat so it's nice and tight. I need to process differently which I'm working on.
  8. Yeah I'm onto that bud. I'm using APP for stacking but getting an error when separating. I've posted on the forum for any further ideas on the issue.
  9. Well, I went for the STC. This is my first image with it. Only 55 minutes as I lost about an hour due to guiding issues.
  10. My first image since going from mono to OSC. I lost about an hours worth of data due to guiding issues. Any CC appreciated. Preston, 20/09/19 ES ED80 APO Triplet SW NEQ6 Pro Zwo ASI294MC Pro STC Duo narrowband filter Guide cam- ALTAIR ASTRO GPCAM3 290m 11 X 300s (55 mins) at 200 gain Darks, flats and bias applied Captured in APT. 11. Excellent. Think I'll go for the Duo. Just trying to sell a few bits first.
  12. It's been mentioned to me that narrower bandwidth is not necessarily a good thing with a colour camera as you are gathering less photons. I know that narrower prevents wavelengths of light pollution etc. Would it require longer integration time for narrower bandwidth?
  13. Ok so that keeps the options open even more. I already have a 2" Ha filter. So the L-Pro and STC would be good additions. Cheers bud.
  14. Ok so it would be different to creating say a HaRGB image for example?
  15. Interesting. So I can image with the combined filter to give the Ha and OIII and also image with a LP filter such as the Skytech Lpro for RGB and combine the 2?
  16. Thanks. £100 more expensive than Altair's Triband though.
  17. Thanks for that mate. Makes sense. Does anyone make a dual band?
  18. Hi guys. I have a Zwo ASI 294mc on its way. I already have 1.25" Ha and SIII filters which I could use with it but then of course there is the Altair Triband and Quadband filters. In a way I'm leaning more towards the combined filters as I feel that individual may take away some of the ease with a OSC camera. I'd also maybe use one of the TS filter holders for ease of swapping filters between the combined filter and the LP filter without disturbing orientation. Any thoughts please?
  19. Hi guys. The 2 occasions that I've been out and tried to focus with a bahnitov mask, I've had an odd pattern. Any ideas? Thanks.
  20. I'm gonna stick with mono for longer and give focusing a go with these methods. I'm also going to set up N.I.N.A for auto focusing. Cheers guys.
  21. I'm no expert but there is little doubt that mono produces better detailed images and is quicker in the sense of comparable data but I think it has to come down to personal circumstances. Do you live somewhere with a lot of clear nights? Do you have to set up each time or do you have an obsy where it's set up? I have had my mono camera for a year and not completed an image and to be honest only had the opportunity to use it a few times. Weather up here is crap and mono would take me for ever to complete an image due to that. There's also being up early for work so regular late nights during the week aren't possible. I'm seriously considering going to colour with Triband filter. I just think I'd find it more enjoyable and I've had experience completing images with my DSLR. Each to their own.
  22. The Auto Focus routine in APT is different to the likes of N.I.N.A and SGP. Is that correct?
  23. Yeah the Focus Cube is an Auto Focuser by Pegasus Astro.
