  5. I use the Combo but can't get a full disc due to my rig. I'd like to though but I suppose that's down to the camera.
  6. Thanks mate. My first refection nebula so very pleased with it.

  8. This is supernova remnant CTB1/LBN 576 (Abell 85) in HOO+RGB. Known by some as the Popped Balloon or Garlic Nebula This has been a real challenge but I'm passed the stage of several targets a night and want to get the time in. I had never heard of this object until I was looking around Stellarium for more obscure targets. It's listed as a custom object. I spoke to a few imagers who had captured this and they told me how faint and difficult it was. It was hit or miss whether I'd pick up anything worthwhile with OSC but I wanted to give it a shot. These guys were hitting it with 30min exposures in mono. My 900s exposures showed barely any nebulosity. After searching on Astrobin, there weren't loads of images of it and I can't find a single image of this in solely OSC. A first? Maybe. CTB1 is approx 9780 light years away, spans approx 98 light years in diameter and is thought to be around 10,000 years old. It was catalogued by George Abell as a planetary nebula as Abell 85 but was suggested to be a SNR by Sidney van den Bergh in 1960. This was confirmed in 1971 by Willis and Dickel. A shell rupture can be seen in the top right of the image. Imaged on the 13th, 17th, 20th and 21st September '20 Preston, UK Altair Astro Starwave 102 ED-R Skywatcher NEQ6 Pro Zwo ASI294 MC Pro STC Duo (Ha and OIII), Skytech L-Pro Max Zwo ASI290MM (guiding) Zwo ASIair Pro 72x 900s (18 hours) Ha/OIII 40x 180s (2 hours) RGB stars 48 darks 50 flats and 50 flat darks per session Ha channel added as luminance RGB added for stars Calibrated and integrated in APP, Processed in Pixinsight and PS
  9. Work in progress. I've got some RGB to add to it for the stars but struggling with that. I'll be adding more time to it as well. 09/09/20 Preston, UK Altair Starwave 102 ED-R SW NEQ6 Pro Zwo ASI294MC Pro Gain 200 -10c STC Duo Zwo ASIair Pro 12x 600s Calibration frames applied. Integration in APP. Processed in Pixinsight and PS.
  10. I'm thinking of hitting CTB1 with my 294MC Pro. I know it's very faint and will need a lot of time but the question is, is it worth it with a colour camera and STC Duo filter? I had a trial run on it at 600s and 900s exposures and it is visible but what are your thought? Thanks.
  11. Not the best seeing and in and out of cloud here in Preston. Altair Astro Starwave 102 ED-R Zwo ASI290MM Daystar Combo Chromo Quark TeleVue 4x Powermate Astronomik UV/IR filter Zwo ASIair Pro and Sharpcap.
  12. Thanks mate. I wanted to grab some RGB for the stars but the clouds rolled in. I used a few different methods for noise etc and used the Ha channel as Luminance and did Deconvolution on that channel. Came out well.
  13. Last night's image. NGC6992 , NGC6995 and IC1340 Bat Nebula. 14. AR2767 and an interesting area imaged 31/07/20, Preston, UK. The seeing wasn't great and it was gusty most of the time. AA Starwave 102 ED-R SW NEQ6 Pro Zwo ASI290MM Daystar Combo Chromo Quark Tele Vue 4x Powermate Astronomik UV/IR filter Captured in Sharpcap, Mount control Zwo ASIair Pro
  15. Hi guys. I occasionally get this brighter area by a prom. Any ideas what could cause it and how to get rid of it? It's been suggested it could be a result from the Powermate. I've tried various things in PS to try to sort it but don't get a result I'm happy with.surface.tif
