Hello, Currently I am looking for some information on solar wedges, I have heard that they are quite safe and that they are very similar to each other, I have seen that there are Lunt, Baader and Lacerta, Altair ... as main brands, maybe there are others. I have read that Lacerta has a special characteristic, the angle in 56.6 degrees that the prism presents, will you notice a difference in the solar image in relation to those that present the prism at 90º? I would also like to ask you, apart from the ND3 filter, which filters are worth putting in the sun wedge? I have read that if a polarizer, that if a solar continuum, that if another of lower density neutral density ... in short, a whole mess for me that I have never had a solar wedge ..., I want it for visual observation! Hello Currently I have a C8 with which I observe the Moon, the planets and some very bright Messier, this is what I can observe from my little corner of observation, which is from where I usually observe, the planets and the Moon are the most apparent objects, Lately I am thinking if it is worth changing the C8 for some refractor that would give me better lunar and planetary images, the truth is that with the Moon I have no complaints, the image is very good, I observe with binoviewers, but with the planets I do not have So lucky, I have a hard time getting an enlarged and stable image..that is why I would like to ask you if it is really worth changing the C8 for an 80ED or an ED100 refractor..for visual planetary and Moon. Hello I would like to know what diameter a refractor must have to be able to observe the solar granulation well, with a solar wedge? I have observed with a 3 "and 4" refractor and full aperture filter, and an 8 "SCT and I have never never been able to observe this granulation ... Thanks.Tico.

Exactly , it´s not for pure astronomy, but for casual observing the Moon (cuasi the unique object visible in MY sky) and observing planes (my other passion), I have used one refractor and spotting scopes 45º but no like me, inclined vision and one eye ..ummmm!! Thanks Tico

Hello, I have been able to observe a lot with a PST 40, and a little lately with a Lunt 50 B600, visually always, not photographically ... In my opinion, the photographic images of the sun made with both telescopes have nothing to do with what I have been able to see visually ..., always in favor of photographic images ...
