  1. Wow, a Celestron Regal Spotting scope like one solar telescope!!!
  2. And for visual, IT is a good combo?
  3. Hello, I have a 1.25 "herschel wedge and I would like to know what filters to use for visual observation, ND3, Baader Continuun, polarizer,? should all three be used together? the ND3 with which of them? plus also an IR / UV filter ..? The Baader continuum is the same like a green Filter? thanks for your clarifications Regards, Tico
  4. Hello. I Am looking for One refractor for White light observations, My question, there is too Much diferente between a 80 mm F/7 and 102 mm F/7 ? tico
  5. Hello, I saw a video on youtube where a Nikon P1000 camera with a solar filter on the lens showed a very good solar image on the LCD screen at maximum zoom, even solar granulation was appreciated, which really surprised me. Has anyone used this camera or similar with solar filter to observe the sun? Thank you Tico

  7. Hello, I'm thinking about getting a binocular for the summer to make informal observations of deep sky, I don't have much budget, I had thought of a Celestron 25x100, I have a good tripod capable of supporting 7 kilograms, and this binocular I think could give me many joys ... In your opinion can this Celestron provide beautiful images of the Milky Way and other deep sky objects? ... (at a low cost?) thanks a lot paul
  8. Hello, I am interested in observing the sun in white light, and I would like to know your opinion about the Hershel wedge of Hercules, Does it have any built-in filter? if so, is it an ND3 or a polarizing filter? provides a sharp, contrasting image? Does this wedge have a safe construction? Thank you so much.
  9. But, I have used the Lunt zoom ep. And... For My Eyes it've a black out effect enormous!! Tico
  10. Hello. I've one solar telescope Lunt 50 B400, and I like know which eyepiece can be a good candidate for this solar scope. Maybe a single ep. With a wide angle? Maybe a good zoom ep. ? Thanks. tico
  11. Hello, It's a good visual solar telescope? Similar to the PST 40? Thanks. Tico.
  12. Sorry, I meant that for the price of these solar telescopes ... that this is a lottery, this is what I mean, I'm sorry if someone could feel offended but that's my opinion ... Tico.
  13. Of course, this is the doubt, I also think that a <lunt 50, simply not because it is Lunt but because it is 10mm more, would show a brighter or brighter visual image, with higher resolution, but with lower contrast compared to the DS PST ... I imagine that the prominences would look better in the Lunt because of their higher resolution ... I don't know about the sweet spot anymore, if better or greater in the Lunt ... But I am clear that Lunt's after-sales service is light years away from Meade's. Something very important !! Nor am I clear about the problem of rust in the PST Coronado, I read that Meade said that it was already solved. Well these are my "solar" reflections.. Cheers, Tico.
  14. And for visual it´s a good performer? Tico
  15. Hi, I will try to be very clear in my question: For visual observation which of the proposed instruments would provide me the best visual image? - On the one hand a new Lunt 50 / B600. or - I have the opportunity to get a second-hand double stack PST for 900 euro and I would like to ask you if it is really worth it on a visual level, is there much difference between the PST with or without double stack? Both possibilities would have a similar price. A greeting and very grateful. Greetings. Tico.
  16. Hi, I have seen this solar telescope: "DayStar H-Alpha Solar Telescope SolarScout SS60-DS Double Stack Performance Set" for a good sale price and I would like to ask you if you have been able to use it or observe for it on some occasion. Will the visual images be similar to those given by the Coronado PST or the Lunt 50? Thanks in advance. Best regards. Tico.
  17. This refractor in the 80-100X territory for visual daytime , how is? Thanks Tico.
  18. I have used with good tracking results some spotting scopoes (some with ED lens) and I have been able to see good details and liveries with 60X and a good manfrotto tripod with a 501 head, the maximum in these spotting scopes, all with zoom eyepieces, but I lack some magnification, I do not speak 125 or 150X, it would be a lot of power and it would be difficult to follow, but the 80 0 90X would be very good, it would be the mag. almost "perfect", a good balance between presentation of details, good tracking ...
  19. Thanks all comments!! Two questions: - Can all three filters be used together on the wedge? I mean, ND3-Conntinum-Polarizer? the three at the same time will not subtract too much light from the image? - Is a solar wedge good for visualizing solar granulation? And one last, do you know any web address where you can see images in white light through a solar wedge? Thank you very much. Tico.
  20. Hello, I am looking for information on some telescope that I can use to observe airplanes when they fly at high altitude ... Well, I will tell you my little story, I will try to be brief, it is essential to be able to use a zoom eyepiece because first you have to locate the plane with low magnification, then go up little by little without losing the visual field, if it gets lost it goes down to lower magnification and start again, I have done it with a short refractor telescope, (with a long refractor it is impossible, it is very low, close to the ground) and an image erector, but these refractors usually have a low focal length and then with the typical zoom From 8-24mm it reaches a maximum of 50 or 60X, clearly insufficient to see it close, its characteristics and livery ..., I have not tried the image erector + barlow, so I do not know what such a result this setup would give. . On the other hand, I have used the odd spotting scope, very good in the sense that they are very manageable and fast in search and monitoring (they are short in size) but they only reach 60X, which is little to observe them at altitude. On the other hand, I have thought that perhaps a small 90 or 100mm Maksutov, having larger focal lengths, 1250 or 1300mm, could achieve higher magnifications, but the problem may be that the smallest magnification is a bit high, around 50X, ummm , and I don't know if the visual field would be too narrow ... I understand that AC would be zero .. I would be delighted to hear your opinions about it or if you have used a good telescope in this regard. Best regards Tico.
  21. I´ve two possible refractors one ED80 and the other is one 127mm.. Thanks. Tico.
  22. Hello, Currently I am looking for some information on solar wedges, I have heard that they are quite safe and that they are very similar to each other, I have seen that there are Lunt, Baader and Lacerta, Altair ... as main brands, maybe there are others. I have read that Lacerta has a special characteristic, the angle in 56.6 degrees that the prism presents, will you notice a difference in the solar image in relation to those that present the prism at 90º? I would also like to ask you, apart from the ND3 filter, which filters are worth putting in the sun wedge? I have read that if a polarizer, that if a solar continuum, that if another of lower density neutral density ... in short, a whole mess for me that I have never had a solar wedge ..., I want it for visual observation! Ah ... I forgot, is it true that 1.25 "wedges are only valid for refractor telescopes up to 4"? and the 2 "ones for refractors up to 175mm? Thanks in advance for your valuable advice. Cheers, Tico.
  23. Hello Currently I have a C8 with which I observe the Moon, the planets and some very bright Messier, this is what I can observe from my little corner of observation, which is from where I usually observe, the planets and the Moon are the most apparent objects, Lately I am thinking if it is worth changing the C8 for some refractor that would give me better lunar and planetary images, the truth is that with the Moon I have no complaints, the image is very good, I observe with binoviewers, but with the planets I do not have So lucky, I have a hard time getting an enlarged and stable image..that is why I would like to ask you if it is really worth changing the C8 for an 80ED or an ED100 refractor..for visual planetary and Moon. Very kind for your comments. Tico.
  24. Hello I would like to know what diameter a refractor must have to be able to observe the solar granulation well, with a solar wedge? I have observed with a 3 "and 4" refractor and full aperture filter, and an 8 "SCT and I have never never been able to observe this granulation ... Thanks.Tico.
