  1. Apart from using Baader film one can also try a continuum filter on the EP to show maybe some granualar detail or stack a uv/ir and #56/58 filter . Both might show some more umbra and penumbra detail .
  2. For the 8mm then the SvBony zoom currently or was £80 ish inc delivery no other fees. Nirvana 13mm gives nice wide views approx. £85 or possibly the Pentax XF12mm but at half the price the Nirvana is excellant value. I have the SvBony 7.2 - 21.5mm zoom and the views I have been impressed with in my slow refractors approx. £45 ( I was fortunate and only paid £23.99), a no brainer at that price. One could in fact acquire all three for your £ 200 - £300 budget. SvBony are coming out with some pretty good EP's amongst their range and that even includes the UFF's. There is a lot of fuss over the SLV's and despite their 50 Deg fov they have are very well thought of , alas I can't back up those findings as RM have lost my one in their postal system 😢.
  3. I have a lot more faith in EVRI delivery here then I do with RM.
  4. As it is currently a mount & go set up, then it will appeal to someone thinking of delving in to AP. So first thoughts are to try and sell as a package. If no takers then one will have to go down the route of individual selling of the set up.
  5. You will like it , I have the shorter f12.5 STL80A- L model and it is CA free in my eyes. The look is so classical. I saw the sale and was also tempted as I just love the Fraunhofer style of refractor but having the F12.5 and the F11 102ED , I really have no need for it. The sale price was though a very good price and to me, still a bargain price . If ever I'm tempted, I have maybe one more scope in me one day and that would be a 125 /130mm refractor.
  6. Still nothing for me , looks like RM have messed up and lost my 12mm SLV that Franklin posted.
  7. After that , I think a good few beers will be doing the rounds.
  8. Like most I select an EP for the seeing often starting at lowest power then increasing to a higher power (sometimes) until the seeing worsens, when the seeing starts to worsen then I back off the power and may select other similar FL's. Typically though I know my Exit Pupil will be within a certain range , for my two refractors that is approx. 0.45mm - 2.91mm. As Don say's , I doubt few bother or even worry about Exit Pupil as it is the power/ ep we select for the object.
  9. It's the only lemon I have bought, all my other ep's I have no focus issues with , meade, celestron, pentax , ovl, baader , svbony , founder.
  10. I have the 20mm and it doesn't come to focus in my two refractors, it needs to much in travel. They are made by GSO, you will likely find reviews not to flattering.
  11. It is a star that quite a few I expect, keep am eye on. T Crb aka HR5958
  12. Janik 60mm f11.6 refractor. Zhumell Z130 reflector dob very handy as it is mounted via rings and a vixen dovetail so can simply be plonked on a tripod with a suitable mount. Scopetech STL 80 f12.5 refractor . Starwave Ascent ED102 f11 refractor.
  13. Have to agree , the 127 is not worth spending money on . Any money allocated is better spent on a better product.
  14. Yes , the various incarnations of the 102ed 1122mm f11 refractor sold by TS , Altair etc, etc all have the bino viewer removable section and also the new Atair 101mm Planeta which now sports fpl53 glass. Not sure though about the Blue colour even though it does look quite fetching, also has a new much dearer price tag to go along with it as well.
  15. As well as the SV215 3-8 zoom which many now own, I bought the SV191 zoom 7.2 - 21.6 for a mere £23.99 on ebay some time before. It now sells for around £75/ $100 and tbh it isn't too bad an ep for a cheapy and gives pretty good views, 42 - 65 degress fov as one zooms to higher power the fov becomes greater. I haven't given it much time as an ep but the views I have had with it I can't complain, I need to spend more time with it and then give some impressions of it. I believe the SV191 is an improved and better ep then the SV135 7 -21 zoom.
  16. The cheapest solar option is basic and costs about £25 , Baader nd.5 solarfilm . Other wise one is looking at 100's if not 1000's of £££'s to see proms etc, etc. Solar film is good for sketching and viewing sfc sun spots.
  17. I have the 12mm SLV coming from Franklin, though tbh I'm not sure when I may see it. RM knocked on the door today and handed me a parcel except it wasn't addressed to me or the correct house number, in large towns /cities the service can be shockingly poor as ther are too many personnel. In smaller nit communities it may be a lot better due to fewer personnel and service may be on a more personal /one 2 one basis where the postie knows his regulars.
  18. I'm the opposite , my shift is early /mid evening till 03.30 hrs , when I get home if the sky's are clear I will make an effort for an hour to hour and a half.
  19. Carrot and Corrinader is my favourite one.
  20. Bresser UK currently have the AP-Z at a 23% off , currently offer is £490 + £5.95 p&p.
  21. One shouldn't get any others fees to pay. I saw none with my Sv215, 18mm uff or xcel lx when I bought them.
  22. £81 shipped is as good a price you will likely see. My one was £75 so with the popularity and sales they must have had, it surprises me that they are still selling a very nice ep at a discounted price. For £81 one is effectively buying 10 ep's in one as one can use 0.5mm increments in between the main 1mm stops, nab one while the going is good.
  23. For a budget mid power ep I also agree the Nirvana 13mm is good, one could look at the Founder optics Alien ler 14.5. The 10 & 18 BCO's are a no brainer even if only 50 degrees.
  24. I agree Tim, no need for the 15 and 20 as I mentioned above , 18 would have been the better FL to keep. I can understand the high power ep's being close as some times it can be a fine line with the seeing, for the most part now I shall likely rely more heavily on my SvB 3-8 zoom for high power.
