Jupiter 20/12/14

These are my first successful attempt at Jupiter with the ASI120mm and after the last time it's a marked improvement but it could probably of been better.

After a lovely still day the breeze picked up for the night which is becoming annoying now but it wasn't a crippling wind so I persisted.

My x2 and x3 barlowed shots didn't work out at all so the only  image I could get any detail from was the avi without a barlow.

The result was also quite noisy so I had to clean that up as best I could but it's a start.

Thanks, it was my real first go with this camera at Jupiter.

I think this is possibly my best Jupiter to date as well.

Next time I will prepare more and use the RGB filters and hopefully can get the barlows to work.

You've lost a bit of contrast with the drizzle but not a bad start with the new cam.

What "didn't work" with the barlow? Maybe someone can offer some help if you describe the issues. Focus. collimation etc are so much more critical at longer FL.

They are nice shots, well done! My first night with my new cam was a disaster result wise on the same target (but enjoyable no the less!)

You've got some good results and will, undoubtedly, build on your success. I look forward to seeing more.
