Skywatcher AZ EQ5-GT GEQ & Alt-Az mount

Recommended Posts

Details of the Skywatcher AZ EQ5-GT mount have been released

The Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ5GT is essentially a smaller, lighter version of the highly successful Skywatcher AZ EQ6GT.

In EQ mode, the AZ-EQ5GT is designed for either visual use or astro-imaging. In AZ mode, it is primarily intended for visual use and in this mode two telescopes can be mounted simultaneously.
Patented Skywatcher dual-encoder 'FreedomFind' allows the telescope to be moved manually in either axis without the mount losing its positional information. This provides freedom, convenience and flexibility during observational sessions.
Our first delivery is scheduled for January.
Please note our website currently displays the £999 RRP but we will monitor 'real' prices and adjust ours so we are competitive when they arrive.

You might want to adjust the price your link is showing....Per order..???

We expect this new mount to be in short supply at first but if you select the pre-order option at our website you will receive one as soon as it becomes available.

This mount really look nice, and the presence of encoders, and also the pier, is a very wellcome addition.

Can you tell me if this payload of 15kg in EQ mod, is for visual use, or for photographic? I know that usually SW give the payload data for visual. Is this the case now?
