Lunar shots through f8 Istar achromat

Just come in from a force 8 gale but clear clear skies...the Moon is amazing tonight. Your shots are fabulous, and no sign of any CA from an F8 achromat?? Must be one heck of a lens on that baby!

Dave, Oh it does have some CA but even I can't believe how little and just how good this f8 lense is! It can take over 100x per inch no problem.

The best thing is it's the only one in the world!

Hi Dave,

Just finished reading your threads on building the refractor. I would love to build my own some day. I would be interested if you could explain why you choose F8 instead of an F12 say.

Great shots by the way. The optics look excellent!
