Places to observe in Cheshire

Hello all, can anybody recommend good viewing places in the Cheshire area. The reason is that when i finish work i dont want to be travelling too far because i start work early in the mornings. Weekends are ok though can go anywhere. thanks

Hi, I rekon Dunham Massey would be ok.

Also, (a weekend one) camping in Tatton Park.

Tatton is nice & dark.

It depends how far you want to travel. I can think of loads of places in Cheshire, but all a bit far from Warrington.

If it were me and I was traveling a few miles anyway, I'd consider going a few more and going into North Wales from Warrington. Don't know any sights though.

I live in Chester and have only tried travelling to one location outside of Chester which is Churton by Aldford.... There is a lane opposite the white horse pub and if you follow it for around 1/2 a mile before you get to Coddington its not too bad.... much better than Chester! View to the horizon away from Chester is quite good.

Hi, ive just moved from runcorn to elton near helsby, i havnt yet got a scope but find helsby/frodsham hill a good spot to view from with my 15x70 binos.

I live in Wrexham and head up into the hills to a place called, aptly, Panorama, above Garth, on the way to Llangollen.

I'd love to have some like-minded company occasionally if any of you fancy a trip into the land of the sheep!

Hi - check out My Dark Sky.

There is also the Ranger Station at Thurstaston - follow the signes for the campsite and it is on the left. I think that Liverpool AS use it for their open evenings.
