Here is my image of the Horsehead and Flame Nebulae

Equipment

William Optics 66mm Refractor

Atik 314L CCD

Manual filter wheel with Baader LRGB filters

On Ne6Q Pro mount.

Guided using 6" Celestron SCT and Atik Titan CCD

subs

L - 15 of 240 secs

RGB - 10 of 240 secs each

Captured on the 4th and 5th March at the Norman Lockyer Observatory, Devon.

Comments always welcome.

Second image is less saturated.

Super shot Dave

The Horsehead is my next intended victim and they are threatening clear skys here tomorrow and Tuesday (heard it all before).

As I have much the same gear you have given me something to aim for.

Wow, there is some detail in there. It does look a tad orange to me though?

I processed on my laptop and forgot that i had the brightness on low from last nights imaging, processed and uploaded it looked fine. Now i have moved to my mac it is rather over-egged on the colour, will try to calm it down and re-submit.

I know that feeling, I often do that and get halfway through editing before I remember!
